Bill Maher Chides Media: Trump's Win Proves US Isn't As 'Divided,' 'Racially Tribal' As Scolds Claim

America was lectured by left-wing media, ad nauseam: Trump is "Hitler" reincarnate. Trump is a "fascist." Trump is a "white "supremacist." Trump is "homophobic," "transphobic," "xenophobic," and all kinds of other awful "phobic." On and on, the left-wing media went, month after month, show after show.

Just one problem.

"Trump" is now President-elect Donald J. Trump, which is a clear indication that a majority of Americans never bought what the quasi-official Democrat Party mouthpiece media desperately tried to sell them.

Enter HBO's mercurial "Real Time" host, Bill Maher.

Maher, who sometimes makes conservatives feel like pumping their collective fists in the air while yelling: "Yeah, he finally gets it!" while other times he makes us want to throw whatever we might be imbibing at the time at the screen and call him names I won't repeat, here.

So which "Maher" is Maher? Both of them, which, in a was,y makes me respect the guy. That is, except for his serious case of Trump Derangement Syndrome, which is always there; he just goes into slight remission from time to time.

Anyway, on Sunday's installment of Maher's "Club Random" podcast, he was joined by ESPN's Stephen A. Smith for a fascinating interview, during which Maher blasted the Democrat Party over being "ideologically captured by identity politics."

Nailed it. Maher also nailed this:

Trump is a strange guy to bring together all these different coalitions.

Maher got even better. Way better.

But first, here's Smith taking a shot at Kamala Harris:

You're from California. You were district attorney here. You were a state attorney general here. You were a senator representing here. And you didn't know that the Latinos were going to say, 'Yo, we don't like open borders.' You didn't know that?

Oh, Harris knows that, Stephen A. She knows it very well.

Thing is, Kamala and the rest of the Democrat Party don't care if you or anyone else likes it or not. What they do care about is importing as many illegal aliens into this country as they can get away with, ultimately naturalizing them, thus giving them the vote, and then, voilà: the voting demographics of America are permanently changed forever. As the Democrats believe, that is.

Maher then presented Stephen A. with a "silver lining" (emphasis, mine).

Here's a silver lining, I think. The election showed we're much less racially tribal than we thought we were. I mean, Trump is a strange guy to bring together all these different coalitions, but, you know, he won Latino men.

"Thirteen percent," Smith added. They said it was a 13 percent jump, and a 5 percent jump in the Black vote and even more [among] Black men."

Maher agreed: "Yeah. We're not really divided so much along the lines that the media paints us in."

Thing is, the Democrat Party elites don't believe it, either. And they don't care if we believe it, either. What they very much care about is convincing (lying to) low-information Democrats that America is a hateful, racist nation clinging to white male power, along with the rest of the scaremongering they spew. How dreadful for them that their lies and venomous bile largely fell on deaf ears.

After Smith posited that, by and large, America is a "centrist nation," irrespective of the fringes on both sides, Maher again hit the nail on the head.

And most Americans are just anti-crazy. Democrats run campaigns now like the voters don't live here, like they don't live here. And they don't go to Starbucks and the office and the store, you know, and they do. And they see women and people of color, and it doesn't look like a racist patriarchy- patriarchal nightmare. It doesn't look like that. And so if that's what the Democrats are selling, it just they-"

Stephen A. broke in, adding:

They don't know what the hell they're selling. Listen, I'm just going to say it plain, the Democrats have gotten on my last damn nerve.

"Me, too," Maher agreed.

I think this is a perfect place to end.

Period.
