Presidential Historian: Dr. Jill Is Driving Force Behind Joe Biden's Reelection Run, 'She Likes Power'

Presidential historian Douglas Brinkley, author of “The Unfinished Presidency,” told CBS News’ “Face The Nation” on Sunday that Jill Biden is the driving force behind 81-year-old Joe Biden's decision to run for reelection. Brinkley also said that "Dr." Jill has behaved "the exact opposite" of how previous first ladies have behaved. Is there any doubt? More on that later.

According to Brinkley:

She is the vital part. Dr. Jill Biden is it. You know, if you go back to 1952, Harry Truman could have run, and he didn’t. Why? Well, the Korean War and, you know, other reasons. But — but Bess wanted to go back to Independence [Missouri] — she didn’t like it in Washington.

If you cut to ’68, Lyndon Johnson was – quit in March of ’68 and people will say because of Walter Cronkite. No. The big thing was his health was bad; he had a bad heart, he was smoking, high blood pressure, [and] tension, and Lady Bird Johnson didn’t want to stay in. And she wanted — Let’s go back to Texas, and convinced Johnson to step down.

"That's not the case with Jill Biden," Brinkley said, adding:

She likes power. She wants to stay. She wants some sense of revenge. She teaches at Virginia Community College. This milieu around our building here, this is her home. And the idea of relinquishing it all after you’ve taken the slings and arrows of the last years of attacks, and at the last minute, just when you get all the delegates you’re going to say, I’m going to open it up to a bunch of people — it’s very childish when you read those kind of reports.

Hang on. Revenge for what?

Joe Biden entered the presidency planning to destroy America as we know it, starting with his intentional illegal alien invasion. And Bidenomics, which led to Bidenflation, has brought hardship to tens of millions of hardworking Americans. The failed president's dangerous handling of the Russia-Ukraine War and the volatile Middle East — including throwing Israel under the bus at every opportunity — has led to a far more destabilized world than existed before he set foot in the Oval Office as president of the United States.

If there's anyone who should seek revenge, "Dr." Jill, it's the American people — on your husband.

Let's Talk About Elder Abuse

Along with child abuse, elder abuse is one of the most unforgivable practices known to man. And let's just say it out loud: Jill Biden has been guilty of elder abuse at least since her mentally-declining husband announced his candidacy for the 2020 presidential nomination.

The Bottom Line

Mrs. Biden could've let — or convinced — her husband [to] retire after his ineffectual vice presidency ended in January 2017. If she had done so, perhaps history would remember Joe Biden far differently than it will as a result of his disastrous presidency and very public mental decline.

But that was not to be.

As Mr. Brinkley correctly said, Jill Biden likes power, although I'd change it to "craves power." It's been apparent throughout the Biden presidency, from the way she talks, positions herself, and her overall sense of self-importance that's easy to see.

Meanwhile, Joe Biden will go down in history as a "sympathetic elderly man with a bad memory" — or far worse.
