'Complete Betrayal': Is Desperate Biden Feigning Tack to Center on Oil Before 2024 Election?

Could it possibly be? Is Joseph Robinette Biden Jr., who called for “unity” and “a time to heal” in America in his 2021 inaugural address, only to begin on Day One in the Oval Office to divide the country, now, finally moving to the center as promised, as the 2024 presidential election wheels begin to turn?

Not in a million Lyin’ Biden years; don’t kid yourself. So, what is going on at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue?

For starters, Socialist Barbie Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) “gently ripped” Biden’s 2023 State of the Union address as leaving “a little bit to be desired.” Why, oh Sage of the Squad? Because, in AOC’s radical-leftist mind, Biden didn’t go far enough in pushing so-called “progressive” policies on student loan debt, immigration, and green energy policy. AOC told MSNBC (who else?):

The piece on immigration was really just glossed over and we have over 10 — you know, anywhere between 10 to 13 million immigrants in this country that feel desperate for a path to citizenship … so I think there’s some themes that left a little bit to be desired for key constituencies in the Democratic base.

Now, hold onto your whale-killing windmills, climate loons; ol’ Joe’s about to really tick you off.

As reported by Fox News on Saturday, the Biden administration is poised to move ahead with a massive Alaska oil drilling project that’s forecasted to create thousands of jobs and 600 million barrels of oil over its 30-year lifespan, according to multiple reports. Oh, the humanity! (It should be noted that CNN ran this story, as well—more on that later.)

Somebody call Climate Envoy John Kerry, immediately! And, Al “Polar Ice” Gore!

This budding development is curious on its surface. Biden has waged war on the fossil fuel industry for almost as long as oil and coal have existed. [sarc, barely] Moreover, he canceled the Keystone XL Pipeline project permit on his first day in office, immediately sending thousands of unionized workers to the unemployment lines.

I mean, we’re talking about a guy who once bragged about how skyrocketing gas prices were a “necessary” part of the transition to the fantasy of green energy.

Here’s more, via Fox News:

Senior administration officials have signed off on three of the five drilling sites proposed by oil company ConocoPhillips as part of its Willow Project in the National Petroleum Reserve located in North Slope Borough, Alaska, Bloomberg reported Friday evening. ConocoPhillips previously stated that, for the project to remain economically viable, the federal government would need to approve at least three of the sites.

The Department of Interior (DOI) will publish the final decision on the Willow Project, but President Biden and senior White House officials have been actively involved in overseeing the approval process. Industry groups, Alaska lawmakers, and local communities urged the president to approve the project for its economic benefits while activists argued it would have a devastating impact on the environment.

Located on Alaska’s North Slope, the Willow Project has been projected to produce 180,000 barrels of oil per day at peak production, create more than 2,500 construction jobs and 300 long-term jobs, and deliver as much as $17 billion in revenue for the federal government, Alaska, and local communities, many of which are Indigenous.

Alaska Republican Sen. Dan Sullivan told Fox News Digital that Willow presents a huge test for Biden.

This decision on Willow is a huge test for the Biden administration on so many issues that they claim to care about. Of course it’s critically important to Alaska, but it’s critically important to America — a project of this size when we need energy security.

This is a no-brainer — for the sane among us, I mean. From Putin’s willful destruction of Ukraine to the mad mullahs in Tehran to the mercurial oil sheiks in Saudi Arabia, the international oil market is suspect, at best; a hostage-taker, at its worst.

Au contraire, believes the Sierra Club, which on Friday tweeted:

The Willow project is a climate disaster waiting to happen that would devastate wildlife, lands, AK communities, and our climate. We need to speed our transition to clean energy, not double-down on oil and gas.

The climate loons will never stop. Hence, they must be ignored when necessity dictates. The question is, do the Democrats have the cojones to do so, with the best interests of the country in mind?

Following the report on Friday, left-wing Oregon [duh] Democrat Sen. Jeff Merkley predictably tweeted:

If this story is right, it’s a complete betrayal of Biden’s promise not to allow more drilling and a complete catastrophe to rein in climate chaos. You can’t ask other countries to forego their fossil fuels if we keep greenlighting projects here in America.

Pure unadulterated insanity

Not only do climate lunatics like Merkley want an ever-worsening energy crisis to bring this country to “climate” heel, they gain immense enjoyment from watching it happen — as does the 46th president of the United States.

But again, what the hell is Biden up to?

At best, Biden’s doing what every incumbent Democrat president does when re-election time rolls around; he’s appearing to tack to the center, in an effort to woo “moderate” Democrats back to the fold who were disillusioned by his radical policies over the last two years. Note: I said appearing to tack, not genuinely tacking. Or is he? [winking emoji]

After all signs pointed to “go,” on Friday. But as reported by The Hill late Saturday morning, the White House is now denying multiple media reports that it will announce its approval of the Willow Project next week. (The New York Times, CNN, and Bloomberg were among outlets reporting Biden will okay the deal.)

Did Joe Biden and his puppet masters first pretend (lie) that Biden would okay the Alaska oil project, then reverse course (as part of the plan) after “green” energy lunatics lose their minds? Presumably, in an effort to shore up the base, or perhaps to demonstrate to “moderate” Democrats that at least Joe tried.

Or, is this one more example of the total ineptitude of this disastrous administration, crowned by a clueless hood ornament who has no idea what the hell’s going on, either way?

Why do I think the answer is “both”?
