Perfect. This one couldn’t have been better if it had been written by the satire site, The Babylon Bee. Republican Reps. Lauren Boebert of Colorado and Dan Bishop on Friday introduced new legislation to ban federal taxpayer dollars from funding crack pipes, needles, and other drug paraphernalia.
As reported by Fox News, the legislation comes on the heels of a viral report that alleges the Biden administration plans to fund crack pipes for addicts. Needless to say, the bill was hilariously and perfectly named after Biden’s “formerly” crackhead son, Hunter Biden.
Boebert and Bishop told Fox News Digital in an exclusive interview that the Biden administration got caught “red-handed” attempting to include crack pipes as part of a $30 million grant program and that legislation is needed to stop the “ridiculous” proposal.
However, the White House has denied the grant would fund crack pipes. Who to believe? Dunno. But I plan to find out. Meanwhile, I’m going with Boebert and Bishop, given Joe — and Hunter’s — past experiences.
To the point, Bishop tweeted:
After getting caught, Biden now claims that American taxpayers won’t be funding crack pipes after all. But just to be safe, Rep. Boebert & I are introducing the HUNTER Act, which ensures your tax dollars aren’t subsidizing woke drug policies.
As Ronald Reagan quoted the old Russian idiom, “Trust, but verify.”

Boebert told Fox News Digital, as transcribed by Fox News:
Congressman Bishop and I are standing up and saying, heck no. Our tax dollars should not be funding the death and destruction of crack addicts.
Democrats are always putting the American taxpayer last and Republicans just want to give people in need a good job. Democrats want to give them crack pipes.
And Boebert being Boebert, she then went… Boebert. In his case, hilariously so.
I like the “HUNTER Act,” because it was a better acronym than Stop Paying to Subsidize Biden’s Son’s Drug Addiction Act. That didn’t really flow. I think tax dollars have been on the hook for Hunter’s addictions long enough.
She’s got a point. The SPSBSDAA Act doesn’t have near the ring of the HUNTER Act.

Bishop told Fox the legislation focuses on more progressive drug policies, such as safe injection sites, needle trade-ins, and safe smoking kits. He said such programs try to “remove all stigma” from drug use, when “actually stigma is not a bad thing.” He added:
The HUNTER Act is a means of encapsulating how ridiculous public policy can become when it’s in the hands of the woke.
The kerfuffle began after Team Biden announced through the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) — a branch of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) — a new $30 million “harm reduction” grant proposal, as part of the Democrats’ so-called “American Rescue Plan,” designed to prevent overdose deaths and reduce health risks associated with drug use. As noted by Fox News, the list of supplies that can be obtained through the grant funds includes overdose reversal medications, safe-sex kits with condoms, fentanyl test strips, syringes, as well as “safe smoking kits/supplies.”
As reported by The Washington Free Beacon on Monday, a DHS spokesman specifically told WFB that the smoking kits will provide pipes for users to smoke crack cocaine, crystal methamphetamine, and “any illicit substance.” The Free Beacon stands by its report despite the denials from the Biden White House. Shocked? Me, neither. OK, I’m going with Boebert and Bishop, case closed.
“Whenever they are caught red-handed they use the phrase misinformation or disinformation to stop the American people from calling them out,” Bishop told Fox. “That’s what happening.”
Added Boebert: “We want that in [a] statute. We’re not taking their word for it.”
Given Biden’s habit of lying every time his lips are moving, and Jen Circle-Back Psaki’s fictitious White House press conferences, it has become obvious over the past year that taking Team Biden’s “word” or explanation of any Biden-created dumpster fire would be a fool’s game at best.
While the HUNTER Act faces no prospects for passage in Nancy Pelosi’s house, I gotta think we’ll see it again come January 2023 — after the Democrats lose their asses in the 2022 midterm elections and the Republicans regain control of the House.
Meanwhile, what’s up with Hunter? Haven’t seen him in the news, lately.
Incidentally, the Biden crack pipe story did not escape the attention of The Babylon Bee. It was simply too good to pass up.
Unfortunately, the crack pipes will not make it into the hands of the people the program is designed for, “reported” The Bee. They all mysteriously disappeared from the White House, Friday morning. Bummer, dude.

I’m never sure which is worse — or better. Farcical art imitating farcical life, or farcical life imitating farcical art. In the case of the Biden administration, they’re often one and the same.
