The schedule is set for the 2020 presidential and vice presidential debates — with Donald Trump and Joe Biden squaring off for the first time later this month, and wrapping up with their third debate at the end of October.

Mike Pence and Kamala Harris will face off just once, in early October.

As summarized by the New York Post, here’s the official schedule, released earlier today by the Commission on Presidential Debates.

Tuesday, Sept. 29
First presidential debate will be held at Case Western Reserve University and Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio. Fox News anchor Chris Wallace will moderate.

Wednesday, Oct. 7
The vice presidential debate will be held at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, Utah. USA Today’s Washington bureau chief Susan Page will moderate.

Thursday, Oct. 15
Second presidential debate will be held at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts in Miami, Florida. Steve Scully, senior executive producer and political editor of C-SPAN Networks, will moderate.

Thursday, Oct. 22
The third presidential debate will be held at Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee. Kristen Welker, co-anchor of “Weekend Today” and NBC News’ White House correspondent, will moderate.

Conspicuous by its absence is CNN. No doubt Team Trump said no way, given the impossibility of finding a moderator at The Most Trusted Name in News™ who is even remotely “fair and balanced.”

Conspicuous by its inclusion is Fox News.

Then again, note that Chris Wallace — not exactly the president of the Donald Trump Fan Club — will be the moderator, as opposed to Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum, both of whom were no doubt rejected out of hand by Team Biden and the Democrat Party, who in March barred Fox News from hosting Democrat presidential primary debates.

As I noted in the headline — mostly tongue-in-cheek — Biden will not be allowed to participate from his basement.

Heck, if Nancy Pelosi and other terrified Democrats — scared silly by the potential for disaster that awaits their often-out-to-lunch standard-bearer — had their way, “Clueless Joe” wouldn’t show up at all.

Based on Joe’s very bad day in Pittsburgh on Monday, can you blame her? If I were a Democrat — God forbid — I’d be terrified, too.

Nonetheless, being the intrepid trooper he is, the poster boy of social distancing says he “can hardly wait” to debate Trump.
