One of my favorite things to do on Christmas Eve when I was a kid was to track Santa as he made his rounds, via the NORAD Santa Tracker hotline. Now along with everything else Santa has updated his communications to include Social Media and a website with live tracking of his sleigh.

Santa is good like that. This is great opportunity to do something silly with your family that they will remember for years to come. It’s been over 15 years since I lost my parents and I cling to the happy memories we shared before their sudden death. At Christmas time that means NORAD’s Santa Tracker. We would rush home from Christmas Eve service, anxious to find out when Santa would be heading our way. Then off to bed, as we tossed and turned through the excruciating wait until Daylight, when our Parents said it was time to open the presents.

I still check the site through out the year, and I follow them on twitter. You can still call and get the updates the old fashioned way though if you prefer. On the official website you will find games and information for the kids about all of Santa’s preflight plans and his Big Night travel itinerary. Christmas is a magical time of year, especially for children, don’t miss a chance to create memories that they will cherish for the rest of their lives.
