Terror Suspected in Attack on German Christmas Market in Berlin

The semi-truck crash in Berlin, that has claimed at least one fatality is now being called a “deliberate attack” or more commonly known as a terrorist attack. The German media was the first to report the announcement from law enforcement in Berlin.

BBC News:

Police now say they suspect it was a deliberate attack. Video footage from the scene shows stalls knocked over and people lying injured on the ground.
The market is at Breitscheidplatz, close to the Kaiser Wilhelm memorial church on the Kurfuerstendamm.
A reporter for the Berliner Morgenpost described a “gruesome scene”.

There are reportedly multiple injuries from the crowd of holiday shoppers, in addition to the one known fatality.

Update: The AP is now reporting that there are at least 9 dead via their twitter account.
