Politicians who hate everything America stands for are taking over the Democratic Party. And several mainstream Democrats are coming forward to sound the alarms.
America has seen the polls. Young people are embracing socialism with a fervor unseen since the radical 1960s. The Democratic Party’s left-wing base is championing Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez as the standard bearer heading into the 2028 election.
While AOC may appear to the untrained eye like a harmless political actress, she is the cutesy face of a dangerous movement that is hollowing America out from within.
The Squad leader is far from alone.
Normies recoil in disgust at the mere mention of Ilhan Omar or Rashida Tlaib, whose hostile rhetoric is an obvious warning. But while the red meat right dismisses their prominence as a reflection of their foreigner-dominated districts, there is something that can’t be laughed off: Radical Democrats are winning elections.
New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, an Islamist communist with all of the oleaginous appeal of a snake oil salesman, has seized the heart of capitalism.
L.A. Mayor Karen Bass rules the West Coast mecca of the American economy. The Castro-connected communist was sunning herself in Ghana while the city burned. (Nero, eat your heart out.) Nonetheless, she stands on the cusp of reelection.

America’s most populous cities are almost exclusively ruled by far-left ideologues. Whether it’s Michele Wu in Boston, Katie Wilson in Seattle, or Brandon Johnson in Chicago, these mayors have implemented destructive policies.
“Mainstream” Democrat mayors now openly back criminal aliens as they call to abolish ICE and slash police budgets. They push transgender activism in the classroom over the objections of concerned parents. They implement burdensome tax regimes that drive off multi-billion-dollar businesses and small business entrepreneurs alike. They loot the public treasury and reward political cronies with corrupt handouts.
There is no ideological justification for this blatant assault on America and everything it stands for. And those who want to build the country up and reform perceived injustices are righteously indignant about this dangerous lurch within the Democratic Party.
Colorado Gov. Jared Polis, whose Rocky Mountain state is so brazen that it allows illegal aliens to have in-state tuition, is nonetheless voicing his concern over rising socialism in the Democratic Party.
“People need to study history and understand what socialism is, how it leads to poverty and government control of our lives and our economy, and moves us further away from some of the progressive goals that some of these people that are falling for it might share.”

“Well, first of all, it’s important that people understand what socialism is. It’s government ownership — collective ownership — of the means of production, meaning the government owns companies, operates companies, like in China, where the military owns a lot of the companies that do business with the military. Frankly, I’m concerned with the rise of it here,” Polis said.
He goes on to explain why socialism is a failed ideology.
“Well, I think you need to talk about how socialism has failed. And when you’re talking to Democrats — and I’m a proud Democrat, and you read part of my statement on that — I support universal health care. I support a strong social safety net. There may be conservatives who agree or disagree with some of those things, but I think the only way to accomplish them, as history has proven, is through capitalism and the free market system and the prosperity that it creates.”
Whether it’s naivete or mendacity, a government should never be allowed to be in charge of people’s health, especially life-and-death decisions. The conservative position is that the government will ultimately take over for free enterprise whenever there is an opportunity. It is human nature to prefer coercion to competition.
Polis continues, “Look to Europe: to be a member of the European Union, you have to have a market economy. When the most recent countries joined — Romania, Bulgaria — they had to privatize their banks, their electricity sector, and they did. They sold off those companies to private ownership in order to join. So the only way you can achieve a quality of life — whatever level you set the social safety net at, whether it’s basic food or basic shelter — you need a market economy and the economic growth and success that it creates to be able to do that.”
The Colorado Gov., however, does make an apt point.
“There’s a fine line between socialism and fascism — they tend to meet at the end of the spectrum.”
What Americans have been experiencing for the past few decades is a nascent form of fascism, as socialism begins to make inroads in a free country.
Democrats who don’t hate their own country are finally speaking up about the danger. This modest bravery would have been more effective two decades ago.
The irritating part about the modern debate between socialism and free enterprise is that it was anticipated by America’s Founding Fathers.
Thomas Jefferson wrote: “The natural progress of things is for liberty to yield, and government to gain ground.”
Jefferson was a democrat in the sense that he believed in electoral representation in a Constitutional republic whose government is limited by delegated powers and the rights of the people.
Socialism is a far cry from this vision of a just government. And Democratic socialism is a contradiction in terms that masks the totalitarian aspirations of the movement.
Democracy, after all, is just a means to an end; And socialism is the end of our liberty and our rights.
