President Donald Trump's Secretary of the Treasury Scott Bessent is turning out to be truly a treasure, and his latest, savage take-down of Kamala Harris and Pete Buttigieg is one that should be repeated over and over again.
During his appearance on "Fox Business Live" with Maria Bartiromo, Bessent was asked about comments by the failed Democratic presidential candidate when she said she wouldn't take Pete Buttigieg on as a running mate, though she wanted to, because "she said it was a risk to have a running mate who was a gay man."

Bessent, who is also gay, called out Harris' ridiculous excuse and pointed out how truly unqualified both are for the job.
Scott Bessent just ENDED both Kamala Harris and Pete Buttigieg’s careers in one fell swoop.

Bessent, who is gay, was asked to respond to Kamala’s recent claim that she didn’t choose Buttigieg as a running mate because he was gay.
He laid out three reasons why that excuse is… pic.twitter.com/HnaxkS5L1e
"Three things, Maria," Bessent replied. "First, it shows her emphasis on identity politics, and the American people moved on."
"Two, it shows how low regard she holds American people," he added. "She was just a terrible candidate. And three, you wouldn't pick Pete Buttigieg because he might have been worst Transportation Secretary in history…anything to do with transportation was woefully neglected over the past four years."
"So, you know, she judges him on his identity, his sexuality," Bessent continued. Let's look and see whether he did a good job. Let's look on merit, and I can tell you, on merit, he's a failure. And on merit, she's a failure."

As my RedState colleague Nick Arama reported, Harris has been going scorched earth on the Democrats and especially those in former President Joe Biden's circle with her new book, "107 Days."
Arama highlighted an excerpt from Harris' book from The Atlantic that she really wanted to pick Buttigieg for her running mate, but decided it was too risky.
It read:
As Kamala Harris rushed to pick a running mate last year, her "first choice" was her close friend Pete Buttigieg, but she decided that it would be "too big of a risk" for a Black woman to run with a gay man.
Buttigieg "would have been an ideal partner—if I were a straight white man," Harris writes in a passage of her soon-to-be-released book, 107 Days, that I saw. "But we were already asking a lot of America: to accept a woman, a Black woman, a Black woman married to a Jewish man. Part of me wanted to say, Screw it, let's just do it. But knowing what was at stake, it was too big of a risk."
"And I think Pete also knew that—to our mutual sadness."
Arama wrote:
I think he would have been a lousy candidate with a failed background. So I don't think much of him, or of her judgment, if she thought he was the best choice. But not picking him because you think it hurts your chances, that's cowardly. That's the opposite of picking on merit -that's discriminating based on him being gay. So much for her adherence to alleged Democrat values. Of course, "Democrat values" translates to doing anything to win. They see everything through the lens of identity groups - it dominates why they do anything.
In Harris' burn book, she puts the blame on everyone else but herself for losing the 2024 election. And this new tale about how she wanted Buttigieg but America wouldn't accept them on a ticket, so she couldn't pick him, is only the latest in a long line of tall tales coming out of the former vice president.
Editor’s Note: The Democrat Party has never been less popular as voters reject its globalist agenda.
