BREAKING: The House just voted 214-212 to pass the Senate's reconciliation bill to fund ICE and CBP with $70 billion over the next three years. The bill will now head to President Trump's desk for signature. Every Republican present voted yes, every Democrat present voted no. Rep. Kevin Kiley (I-CA) voted no.
It is now June 9. President Donald Trump set a June 1 deadline for Congress to fund ICE and CBP after these agencies were separated from the Department of Homeland Security funding bill. This effort was blown out of the water when senators on both the GOP and Democrat side chose to debate the now-defunct Anti-Weaponization fund, and refused to consider the reconciliation bill if any amendment that included this funding was attached. Majority Leader John Thune (R-SD) recessed the Senate for the Memorial Day weekend without a vote to move forward with the bill.

After a week's recess, on June 3, the Senate picked up the reins and voted to advance the reconciliation measure 53-46. On June 5, the full Senate voted for its passage, 52-47. The Secure America Act was then moved to the House of Representatives for consideration.
The Secure America Act now goes to President Donald Trump's desk for signature.
Editor’s Note: The 2026 Midterms will determine the fate of President Trump’s America First agenda. Republicans must maintain control of both chambers of Congress.
