Planned Parenthood on the Struggle Bus: Org Is Forced to Sell Botox and the 'Fat Shot' to Make Ends Meet

Amazing what happens when you're no longer subsidized by the federal government. Since the last word on the cessation of Medicaid funding to Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) via the One Big Beautiful Law was handed down in December, and through the 2024 United States Supreme Court ruling in Medina v. Planned Parenthood South Atlantic, PPFA has been forced to fundraise a bit more than usual. The Denver Nuggets owners are running a campaign that every time the team wins, they will donate $5.00 to PPFA.

Now, one California PPFA has rebranded to offer beauty and health planning in addition to <*cough, cough*> "family planning."

“We’re not your mom’s Planned Parenthood,” a beaming Dr. Laura Dalton, the chief medical officer for Planned Parenthood Mar Monte, told KCRA.

Outside of its trademark abortion services, Planned Parenthood Mar Monte is providing women with beauty services like Botox and fillers while also offering access to GLP-1s for weight-loss and nitrous oxide, or laughing gas, for anxiety and pain management.

Dalton said the new services will help Planned Parenthood Mar Monte’s doors to “open wider.”

“We are resilient and innovative, and I like to say that when faced with a crisis, our doors did not close. They opened wider,” Dalton said.

In light of the Trump administration cutting off $100 million to the nation’s largest Planned Parenthood — a medical provider known for providing abortions and menstrual care to women — the California-based branch needed more funds.

Gov. "Hair Gel" Gavin Newsom and his AWFL First Partner Jennifer Siebel Newsom made a big to-do about supporting PPFA with state funding in February, but the organization is apparently still on the struggle bus.

Once Again, the 1st Circuit Puts a District Court Judge in Check Over Planned Parenthood Funding

One pro-life Catholic newsletter reported the following:

A memo published by Planned Parenthood November 12 said that since the beginning of 2025, “nearly 50 Planned Parenthood health centers have been forced to close following the loss of Title X funds and Medicaid reimbursements,” with 20 of those closures after July 4, when Trump signed the law containing the provision.

[...]

In a November statement accompanying the memo, Alexis McGill Johnson, president and CEO of Planned Parenthood Federation of America, said, “Despite herculean efforts by Planned Parenthood health centers to keep care affordable, as well as public commitments by several states to help stabilize services, patients’ access to health care will worsen considerably over time due to the Trump administration’s actions.”

Yes, please.

McGill Johnson called the situation “unsustainable,” arguing that, “While Planned Parenthood will continue to be unwavering in our commitment to ensure everyone can get the care they need, no matter where they live or how much money they make, by ourselves we cannot solve for the failures of our country’s broken health care system and the cruel actions of anti-abortion lawmakers.”

Once funding for their sanctioned child-killing was halted, PPFA had to rethink their business model. Despite these wellness add-ons, apparently, they are still having a hard time keeping the lights on. Who would have thought?

Dalton said the new services will help the organization “backfill” in funding further for visits that weren’t reimbursed “in the Sexual and Reproductive Health program,” she said.

One patient told KCRA that she wanted to get Botox anyways, so supporting Planned Parenthood was a bonus.

Ahhh, there it is. At least this patient is putting her money where her uterus is. Where are the rest of the feminist class with their pink hats? If PPFA wasn't about only supplying abortion, then why, when federal dollars used to fund abortions were restricted, is PPFA still having a difficult time staying afloat? If the Left truly were concerned about this cause of "reproductive care," then they would be pouring their collective wealth into this cause, don't you think? Perhaps they need to redirect some of those funds from anti-Iran War and anti-ICE astroturfing and protests and pour it back into PFFA.
