Yikes: Jennifer Newsom Goes Full Angry AWFL on Female Reporters; Even Gavin Seemed Embarrassed

Few things are more annoying in life than a sanctimonious AWFL, and that goes double when that AWFL happens to be the hypocritical wife of the governor of America's most populous state, where they have very large megaphones at their disposal.

Jennifer Siebel Newsom, who we're supposed to call the "First Partner" of California Gov. Gavin Newsom, is typical of many Democrat women in positions of power and influence in portraying herself and her husband as staunch defenders and champions of women.

One area in particular where Mrs. Newsom is most proud of their work is on so-called "reproductive freedom," swooping in to make sure women in the Golden State essentially had unfettered access to both abortion and the funds to get one after the Supreme Court's June 2022 ruling that overturned Roe v. Wade, and after the 2025 OBBB essentially stripped federal funding for Medicaid reimbursements to Planned Parenthood clinics.

On Wednesday, the Newsoms held a press conference to tout the governor's signing of a bill that carves out $90 million in "emergency funding" for Planned Parenthood in the state. They were surrounded by Democrat state lawmakers, members of Planned Parenthood, and even had a "Stopping Trump's War on Women" sign plastered to the podium.

Gov. Newsom proclaimed that "California values women, their choices, and their fundamental right to health care ... [The state's] latest investments support Planned Parenthood and protect access to critical resources for women and families across the state."

At one point, however, Jennifer Newsom threw a temper tantrum to the assembled press corps, which happened to mostly be comprised of women, scolding them for doing their jobs in daring to ask questions that didn't all specifically relate to the governor's bill signing:

We just find it incredulous that, um, we have Planned Parenthood here, and women are 51 percent of the population, and the majority of other questions - all of these questions -- have really been about other issues.
So, it's just fascinating we have this incredible women's caucus and incredible allies, and you're not asking about it. This happens over and over and over and over again. You wonder why we have such a horrific war on women in this country, and that these guys are getting away with it. And you don't seem to care. So I just offer that with love.

For anyone who may not have caught it, go back and watch the video to see Gavin Newsom's reaction. He looked embarrassed over his wife's little snit fit. LOL. Perhaps even funnier was that he "didn’t echo her and he continued taking off-topic questions after she said this," according to KCRA reporter Ashley Zavala.

But though the governor's reaction was amusing in its own way, the better ones came from other reporters who took to X to share their pointed thoughts:

This is ridiculous. Journalists ask questions, and while you can dictate your answer, you can't control the questions people ask.

Not surprisingly, at the same press conference where Jennifer Newsom insultingly went full angry AWFL on female reporters about their alleged contributions to the supposed "horrific war on women" in America, she refused to comment when asked a question about the Epstein files:

So, yeah. She won't comment on a notorious sexual predator, but she'll tear into female reporters over asking her husband some inconvenient questions. Make it make sense.

Mrs. Newsom wants you to know she really cares about the safety and security of women, y'all. Except for the ones who get in the way of the Newsom family's political agenda and social ladder climbing, as RedState Managing Editor Jennifer Van Laar reminded us:

I have tried to see Ruby's side of the story but unfortunately everyone near to her has stories and says she is bad news."

You just couldn't make this stuff up if you tried. You just couldn't.
