Just when I think the media can’t get any dumber, folks like MSNBC’s Joy Reid prove me dead wrong.
In Reid’s latest tap-dancing routine for President Joe Biden, she responded to the news that he has COVID-19 – again. During the segment, she lauded Biden’s latest COVID diagnosis as an opportunity to attack former President Donald Trump, who is riding high after Saturday’s attempt on his life.
And not spread COVID around, but also to remind people of what hell we went through with COVID because of Donald Trump. Here is a great messaging opportunity for President Biden to bring out the tape and remind people of how many people died. A million people are no longer with us. People's grandmas were dying alone with their iPad. Great opportunity and messaging opportunity should the White House choose to take.
Reid then descended further into the depths of absurdity by complaining about how Trump used the assassination attempt to his political advantage.
Here's the question that I have on that. These two men are both elderly. Donald Trump is an elderly man who, for whatever reason, was given nine seconds to take a iconic photo op during an active shooter situation. Weird situation, we'll figure that out one day. But his survival of that and bouncing right back and going right to his convention is being conveyed in the media world as a sign of strength.
The commentator then argued that Biden overcoming COVID for the umpteenth time should demonstrate the same level of strength that Trump showed right after being shot when he raised his fist in the air before being taken off the stage by Secret Service agents.
This current President of the United States is 81 years old and has COVID. Should he be fine in a couple of days, doesn't that convey exactly the same thing? That he's strong enough, older than Trump, to have gotten something that used to really be fatal to people his age. So if he does fine out of it and comes back and is able to do rallies, isn't that exactly the same? It should. I mean, it's not exactly the same. It's not the same incident, but it's an elderly man coming through out of an illness.
This exchange is so desperate it almost makes me feel pity for Reid and the others who are paid to tap dance for Democrats to the point that they become utterly ridiculous.
Here’s the thing. I got COVID in 2022. It sucked. Royally.
But I would much rather go through the coronavirus than have my ear shot off in an attempted assassination. In fact, I’m pretty sure most people would rather get sick for a week or two than have someone shoot them with an AR-15.
It seems to me that it would have been much easier to say “Hey, Biden’s got the ‘rona again. I hope he gets better.” Unfortunately, propagandists gotta propagandize, right?
