Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg has offered a sweet new plea deal to the six illegal immigrants who brutally assaulted New York Police Department (NYPD) officers in Times Square earlier this year. As he seeks to throw the proverbial book at former President Donald Trump for allegedly paying off a porn star he had a tryst with, he seems to think that physically attacking other people is a crime worthy of leniency.

The New York Post reported on the development, noting the details of the plea deals. Two of the illegals involved in the attack were “offered a separate deal to serve six months in prison for pleading guilty to obstructing a government administration,” and another suspect was offered “a bargain that would send him to prison for two years for pleading guilty to second-degree assault,” the report explained. It is not yet known whether the defendants have accepted the plea deals.

However, the judge did have some harsh words for one of those who was released after the altercation. The individual had attempted to steal some merchandise from a store.

Six of the migrants charged in connection to the vicious attack on two NYPD officers in Times Square were offered plea deals Tuesday as a Manhattan judge revealed that one of the accused cop-beaters was arrested again while out on bail.

Yohenry Brito, 24 — who was remanded after his initial arrest — was nabbed last week for petit larceny after an activist Brooklyn priest posted his $15,000 cash bail in February, Judge Laura Ward said in Manhattan Criminal Court on Tuesday.

“I am furious that Mr. Brito was rearrested and charged with petty larceny while he was out on this case,” Ward fumed as she warned that another slipup would land him behind bars.

“I am very tempted right now to put you in jail. I am telling you right now, if I learn you are rearrested for anything at all between now and this case being finished, I will order a warrant and I will place bail so high, you will not get out,” she continued.

“If you jaywalk, if you jump a turnstile, if you do anything at all and I have to issue a warrant, you will not see the light of day until this case is over,” Ward declared.

Brito allegedly tried to steal children’s clothing and “fragrances” from Macy’s Herald Square flagship store on Friday night, according to a criminal complaint.

He was charged with petit larceny and criminal possession of stolen property — both misdemeanors.

The incident occurred in January when a group of young illegal aliens attacked two NYPD officers who were attempting to detain one of the suspects. Surveillance footage captured the vicious assault, showing a mob punching and kicking the officers before running away.

To add insult to injury, the authorities let them out on bail shortly after apprehending them because this is New York, and of course they did.

The handling of this case raises even more questions about whose side Bragg’s office is truly on: violent criminals or the people they victimize? Imagine if you or I had run up on some police officers and violently assaulted them. Would we get the same treatment?

It’s not likely.

The approach toward criminals favored by Bragg’s ilk only keeps law-abiding folks in vulnerable positions by emboldening violent criminals who know they will receive a light, feathery touch on the wrist even if they assault police. If they can mob officers without much in the way of punishment, how much more will they feel empowered to go after people who don’t wear a badge? Unfortunately, progressive ideology prohibits folks like Bragg from doing his job the right way, and it is only the citizens who will suffer as a result.
