AOC And Her Comrades Have Some Alarming Plans For American Media

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) conducted a live stream on Tuesday night in which she said she wishes to “rein in” media to stop the spread of misinformation. The lawmaker indicated that she and her colleagues are “looking into” ways to deal with America’s “media environment” which, when translated into normalspeak, means she and her ilk wish to have the same relationship with news outlets that a ventriloquist has with his dummies.

“Several members of Congress, in some of my discussions, have brought up ‘media literacy,’ because that is a part of what happened here,” Ocasio-Cortez said during the live stream. “We’re going to need to figure out how we rein in our media environment so that you can’t just spew disinformation and misinformation.”

She continued, seemingly acknowledging, “it’s one thing to have differing opinions,” but that “it’s another thing entirely to just say things that are false. So that’s something we’re looking into.”

These remarks came after she spent minutes bloviating about how awful President Trump and his supporters are because of racism, sexism, bigotry, and blah blah blah.

But then, she turned to the riots at the U.S. Capitol, pinning the blame on the president.

“White supremacists [were] ordered by President Trump to attack the Capitol,” she lied. “There were acts of betrayal [by police]. And, to run in the Capitol and not know if an officer is there to help you or harm you is also quite traumatizing.”

The lawmaker went on to insist that Republicans in Congress “don’t give a damn about the law” and that they care only about “white supremacy,” “preserving the social order,” and all the usual far-left drivel that they feed their base like an old man throwing bread crumbs to pigeons.

During her rant, she called out Sens. Ted Crux (R-TX) and Josh Hawley (R-MO), insisting that they “should resign.”

But let’s get to the bottom line. We should take AOC at her word. She merely wishes to stop the flow of “misinformation,” and she is sincere in that assertion. Unfortunately, what she’s not telling us is the word “misinformation,” when translated into leftspeak, means “opinions we don’t like.”

When one has a grasp of progressive vernacular, they can easily glean the true meaning of their contentions. After all, when has AOC, or any other Democrat for that matter, criticized activist media outlets like CNN for lying about the Covington Kids or spreading the Russia collusion hoax? When was the last time you saw one of them say something like, “we’re not fond of President Trump, but he didn’t call Nazis ‘fine people.’”

The truth is, you’re about as likely to see AOC or one of her comrades correct a left-wing media activist outlet as Joe Biden is to serve a full four-year term. But we must not overlook the scary part here. If far-left Democrats plan to start pushing for the government to get involved in America’s “media environment,” it can’t mean anything positive for the nation. The activist media is already using its platform to push leftist causes while pretending to be objective.

It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out that their intent would be to further diminish conservative voices by silencing them on the airwaves. By the way, some on the left have already suggested such a course of action. Conservatives better be ready to fight this battle if they truly care about the First Amendment.
