A source has told The Daily Mail that Rep Ilhan Omar (D-MN) and Democratic fundraising strategist Tim Mynett have been “carrying on” for several months.

The pair are frequently seen in each other’s company and are said to have traveled to events in Los Angeles, New York City, Austin and Seattle together.

The Daily Mail reported that, back in March, the Congresswoman from Minnesota was photographed with Mynett at a “secluded” Italian restaurant outside of L.A. The two had been seen holding hands prior to the photo.

Omar had delivered a speech the prior evening at a Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) banquet in Woodland Hills, CA. Mynett attended this event as well. (It was here that she famously downplayed the 9/11 terrorist attacks, saying ‘some people did something,’  for which she was widely criticized.)

The Daily Mail shows numerous photos of Omar and Mynette together at events ranging from another CAIR event in Seattle in May to a video of her with a “mystery man” who sure looks an awful lot like Mynette after she had filed for divorce. Here is a link to the video.

Mynett has recently left the home “he shared with his wife, Dr. Beth Mynett, their young son, and her daughter from a previous marriage.” Mynett is 38-years-old and his wife is 51.

In July 2018, Mynett founded the E Street Group, a firm which develops “national progressive strategies for candidates, nonprofits and advocacy efforts.” Prior to that, he served as the national finance director for then-Rep. Keith Ellison (D-MN). (Omar currently occupies Ellison’s former seat in Congress.)

Over the last year, Omar’s team has paid Mynett over $250,000 for his services.

Two weeks ago, it was widely reported that Omar had left her husband, Ahmed Hirsi, for the second time. Hirsi is the father of her three children.

Recently, her marital situation has come under scrutiny. She has been accused of marrying her brother, Ahmed Nur Said Elmi, in order to “skirt immigration laws.”

According to Lifezette, “Omar reportedly engaged in a civil marriage with Ahmed Nur Said Elmi up until 2017, but she filed joint tax returns with Hirsi in 2014 and 2015. Aside from the possible immigration fraud with a man who is allegedly her brother, the multiple filings appear to be a violation of state tax law.”

Several weeks ago, Judicial Watch filed a House ethics complaint against the Congresswoman over “potential immigration, marriage, tax and student loan fraud.” He is concerned that Omar may have violated federal and state laws.

Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton said:

The evidence is overwhelming Rep. Omar may have violated the law and House rules. The House of Representatives must urgently investigate and resolve the serious allegations of wrongdoing by Rep. Omar. We encourage Americans to share their views on Rep. Omar’s apparent misconduct with their congressmen.
