The prize is so large because there has been no jackpot winner in three months. Those who are interested in participating in Tuesday night’s drawing still have time to get a ticket, as long as they go before 10:45 p.m. Eastern time. The drawing will take place live at 11 p.m.

Tickets are $2 each, and the odds of winning are 302,575,350 to 1, according to WSB-TV Atlanta.

The biggest Mega Millions win from a single ticket was $1.537 billion in October 2018 by someone in South Carolina. Overall, the largest jackpot ever came from Powerball with a pool of $1.586 billion in January 2016, which was split among three winners in Tennessee, California, and Florida, according to U.S. News.
