Now that Sen. Marco Rubio has suspended his presidential campaign, Gov. Nikki Haley gives Sen. Ted Cruz a sort of endorsement. When Haley was asked by reporters about the current state of the Republican nomination process, she said “my hope and my prayer” is that Sen. Cruz is now able to move through the ranks and get that top position.
You can watch Haley’s comments in the following video:

Haley was asked by reporters about the current state of the Republican nomination process
The only thing I can say now is my hope and my prayer is that Sen. Cruz can come through this. That He can push through and get to where he needs to go.
Because we do want a strong Leader. We do want somebody who is Conservative. We do want somebody that is action minded. So we’ll see what happens.
I don’t know that I need to formally endorse. I don’t know if that part matters. I’ll tell you that’s who privately I’m fighting for. If anybody asks me, that’s what to see happen. I very much want to see Sen. Cruz now be able to move through the ranks and get that top position.
I do see a path for him, because I think he’s been solid and strong the entire way. I think that he’s been disciplined in the way that he’s done it. And I think through the strange parts of the election he hasn’t let this get to him and I think that’s really important in order to see this through.
In the end it’s all about the numbers. So we’ll see what happens.
I’ve always said I will support the Republican nominee. That’s what I said in the beginning, that’s what I will continue to say. Ask me when the time comes again.
Haley’s “endorsement” of Cruz is the third sitting governor. According to NBC News, now that Rubio is out of the race, Cruz leads with endorsements from national Republicans–senators, representatives, and governors.
