In a sign that Republicans are rallying to Sen. Ted Cruz, Elaina Plott reports that she has been told that Sen. Ted Cruz will “unveil a batch of Senate endorsements this week.” She wrote in the National Review’s “The Corner,” that some of  the Senator’s upper chamber colleagues may dislike Donald Trump more than Cruz:
With the prospect of Donald Trump’s nomination looming over the GOP, Cruz is set to unveil endorsements from more than four senators this week, according to a source with knowledge of the situation.
Plott also credits Rubio’s failure to gain enough traction for Senators to start making peace with Cruz:
But as many senators see Marco Rubio’s prospects dimming, some are beginning to make peace with Cruz, convinced that he’s the only candidate who can stop Trump. If Rubio can’t clinch his home state of Florida on March 15, yet more may come forward to back the devil they know.
Even Sen. Lindsey Graham, who once said choosing between Trump and Cruz, is like choosing between being “shot or poisoned,” now concedes that Republicans may have to “rally around Ted Cruz as the only way to stop Donald Trump.”
