Weaponized Tribalism Is Tearing This Country Apart

A dirty trick of the Left that, frankly, they're very good at is creating tribes within tribes.

They say a divided house cannot stand, but truth be told, it's one of the ways the Democrat Party maintains power, and it's very easy for them to do so thanks to their control over many major platforms and the remaining momentum from the pre-Trump era.

A solid example of what I mean is something my friend Kira Davis wrote about at The Federalist. Gary, Indiana, is currently going through an energy crisis that was brought about thanks to horrific leadership and an isolationist culture. To hear Democrats like Justin Pearson tell it, the thunderstorm that caused a blackout that affected 100,000 homes is a racism issue.

However, as Davis notes, racist storms aren't the issue:

Gary is not experiencing storm racism. Gary is experiencing complete incompetence, and the storm laid it bare. There are a few reasons Gary remains in a position of suffering.

First, people literally shot at the power company. NIPSCO (Northwest Indiana’s energy provider) has reported that multiple bullets struck their vehicle as employees tried to navigate the streets of the city and make repairs.

Second, people are abandoning their homes in search of air conditioning, gas, and electricity, leaving property vulnerable to thieves and home invaders. My senior citizen uncle refuses to leave his home for fear there will be nothing to come back to. He and his wife feel they must choose between suffering and theft.

Davis lists a few more things, such as infrastructure that hasn't been maintained properly by city leaders, and its police presence has been more than lacking thanks to Black Lives Matter's "defund the police" efforts, to the point where they won't show up unless someone is hurt.

But Davis gets to the crux of the matter:

There is no reason for Gary to be in its current condition. It has everything it needs to be a beautiful, prosperous city. It sits on a prime stretch of Lake Michigan shoreline. It has stunning historical architecture and is squarely in the middle of one of America’s heaviest transportation corridors. It is a mere 30 miles from Chicago, giving it connections to jobs and culture. Ostensibly, Gary could operate as a cheaper “suburb” of Chicago if it had the political mettle.

There is no one to blame for Gary’s tragic decline or current desperation besides the very people who keep telling us white people are the problem.

This is weaponized tribalism. It's isolationism based on us-versus-them thinking that makes whoever gets roped into the idea see everyone else as not just untrustworthy, but the cause of all of their woes.

I'd like to tell you it stops with black politicians on the Left, but it doesn't. The Democrats make a point of doing this with every group under their umbrella.

Are you a woman? Men are trying to keep you down and take away your rights.

Are you gay? Christians hate you and want to take away your rights.

Are you trans? Everyone is trying to kill you. Trust nobody.

The plus about this is that it really helps the Democrats create loyal voters, because it's far easier to convince someone you're on their side when you're pretending to directly oppose and stand in the way of their oppressor. Promising goodies that directly benefit that respective group makes them feel seen and cared about.

However, it's all a smokescreen for the real goal, which is control. Case in point: when power is achieved, these groups are usually worse off than they were before. That's certainly demonstrable for the black community. How many people got roped into the trans movement only to find out they were miserable and regretful of what they were convinced they were by the Left?

The real solution is to work with your fellow countrymen, not against them, but the Left has turned every identity into a battlefront. There can be no peace under the Democrat banner. Only war.

It's a sad state of affairs, and it's saddest for everyone who has been under Democrat control for so long because they continue to drink the Kool-Aid despite all warnings to the contrary. They can see the devastation, the homelessness, the drug addiction, the deterioration, the crime, and lack of safety, but the Democrats have so convinced them that this is just because everyone else is to blame that they would rather fight people who aren't trying to fight them at all and be miserable.

Kind of like a person at a mental institution who people are trying to help, but he's so deluded and paranoid that he keeps lashing out.

It's one of the greatest examples of mass brainwashing I've ever seen.
