Homosexuality isn't something that you would consider to be widespread, despite the media's attempts at convincing you it's everywhere. Even the graphs that show Gen Z is the gayest generation to ever exist show that most of those signing up to be part of the LGBTQ+ community have a heavy focus on the "B," which is often more for fashion than function.
Homosexuality is niche, and while the left would say it's being repressed for social reasons, the truth is that homosexuality is a sexual fetish, not an instinctual pull. Most people don't have this fetish, and even consider it gross because that's exactly what our instincts point to. It actually takes social conditioning to make more people believe homosexuality isn't gross to override the instincts.
On the right, homosexuality is generally regarded as I described above. A sort of niche form of sexual gratification that isn't really practiced by the wider populace. It's more of a cultural trend than a sexual one. Given, the right has become a lot less aggressive about homosexuality, but it's still considered something we wouldn't acknowledge as "normal."
The left, however, borderline worships homosexuality. They consider it one of the most important subjects of the modern era, so much so that they attempt to put it in every children's library, force businesses to celebrate it openly, and push parades, shows, and characters on us to give us the impression that they're far more populous than we think. Which kind of exposes the fact that they aren't that numerous anyway.
But the point is that you'd think the left thinks homosexuality is just the bee's knees. It's a sacred cow you cannot touch lest you be deemed a homophobe, or transphobe, etc.
But does the left actually consider homosexuality holy?
Not really. It looks like in their heart of hearts, they consider homosexuality to be something worthy of ridicule. It's an insult to them, but not a playful one.
It's something a lot of people noticed during the finale of "The Boys." As I wrote yesterday, the finale highlighted something interesting about the left's view of morality, namely that good and evil aren't factors, so much as haves and have-nots.

One of the things that happened in the finale is the main villain promising the protagonist sexual favors in front of a live audience. It prompted a "huh," moment of realization for many.
The point of the moment was to greatly insult a Trump analog, which raises the question: Why would the left, the side that considers homosexuality to be something so important that it's a sacred cow, use homosexuality as an insult? A way to display someone as pathetic and weak.
You could say that they only do this because of the right, whom they think they're insulting by painting a white man of great power as pathetic to the point of begging for his life via sexual favors in front of people.
Odd thing to do.
But it's a noticeable pattern. An article from the National Post actually highlighted this, exposing how "progressives" actually attack homosexuals who disagree with them by using "fa**ot" as an insult:
Because woke homophobia hasn’t been formally studied, it’s hard to break down and analyze. However, examples have been collected in an infamous Google photo album, which is publicly accessible and includes over 4,500 screenshots of woke activists attacking gay men — calling them “fa***ts” who will “burn in hell” and need to be “erased” and “cancelled,” while advocating that society “normalize homophobia,” among other things.
The pattern has even been noticed coming from California Governor Gavin Newsom's office.

So, what does this tell us?
Something we already all knew. The left's "love" of certain groups is entirely performative. They don't actually care about gay people. They only find them useful. The moment they find the opportunity to wield homosexuality as a slur or insult is the moment the mask is ripped off. It's like they can't help but throw the concept around as an insult.
As far as it goes, the left seems to actually hate homosexuality.
