The Violent Left Is No Longer on the 'Fringe'

Long gone are the days of tie-dye and peace signs while stoned leftists sat in circles singing songs about how we should all get along. Now, it's all about killing those they disagree with.

As my colleague Rusty Weiss mentioned in an article on Monday, a new study shows that the left has embraced "assassination culture," with a great deal of them seeing the assassination of Donald Trump nor Elon Musk as at least "somewhat justified":

Thirty-one percent of respondents feel taking out Musk is at least "somewhat justified," while another 38 percent feel the same about the President.

Those overall numbers are unacceptably high. And they are being bolstered by an ideology on the left that seems perfectly content to see people they oppose politically being removed from the conversation.

Among left-leaning respondents, those finding justification for the outright murder of Musk and Trump rise significantly - 48 and 55 percent, respectively.

The study goes on to reveal that 40 percent of those surveyed feel violence against Tesla dealerships is an acceptable form of protest, with that number shooting up to 58 percent for those on the left side of the aisle.

(Shocking Study: Left Embracing ‘Assassination Culture,’ Some See Trump’s Death As ‘Somewhat Justified’)

First off, I don't find any of this surprising. The insanity that is the violent left has its roots in an equally insane media that sees every radical act from leftists as an absolute win. Even when they're saying "it's wrong to assassinate people," they spend an inordinate amount of time either ignoring things like this study, or even applauding violent riots.

The legacy media is losing its power, but "power loss" is relative because it's still such a Goliath with multiple high-priced megaphones. Brainwashing people into believing they're literally up against a great evil looking to become a ruler over them. This is an ideological group whose unofficial motto is "by any means necessary," and when you combine its willingness to go to any length and pair it with the aforementioned brainwashing, you get an actual approval for murder.

As I wrote last week, the media is preying on the emotions of the left in order to frighten and infuriate them into action. Violent action and vandalism is actually a solid result because, among the left, it only tends to breed more. Normalizing violence has multi-layered uses, including manipulation of the emotional. It can drive them to organize and intimidate, pressure city officials, silence opposition, and drive people into compliance.

The attacks on Tesla vehicles are a very good indication as to just how much the fear and rage has permeated the left. Many of the people vandalizing Teslas aren't hoodlums or dumb youths; these are well-to-do people from the middle and upper class participating. Vandalizing has been normalized in the wake of consistent fearmongering from the likes of the legacy media and Democrat politicians.

And no one is pulling back on the reins here.

What happens when "punch a Nazi" — a phrase the left likes to drop in order to pardon violence against their ideological opponents — becomes "shoot a Nazi?" Right now, 55 percent of the left seems to think it's somewhat justified. While this doesn't at all mean that 55 percent of the left will be willing to shoot someone, it is going to make leftists who are willing to go that far more apt to do so.

Normalization of a thought usually results in an action related to said thought.

And I don't even see Trump or Musk catching the bullet; I see some poor, innocent soul at the wrong place and time. I'm talking another Corey Compertore, a life that can be more or less ignored by the media, spurring more attempts at life-taking thanks to the shrug-off by the establishment left.

We are facing a crisis here, and one that will require serious preventative action. Examples need to be made and loudly. The message sent needs to be that politically-based violence, or even threatening someone with it, will not be tolerated. This is absolute madness, and it cannot go ignored. If it is, it's only going to get worse.
