Tom Homan is having the time of his life, and everyone loves to see it.
America's best-ever "border czar" has a lot of victories to celebrate, especially recently. As my colleague Jennifer O'Connell reported on Thursday, FBI director Kash Patel announced that a DOJ-FBI-CBP task force nabbed a major MS-13 leader.
This is all thanks to a tighter and more focused immigration policy from a Trump administration that isn't playing around with illegal migration and the crime it brings with it.
Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem even filmed a video warning illegals to leave while standing in front of gang members locked up behind bars, as Rusty Weiss reported.

Homan is in the business of rounding up and deporting illegal immigrants, and business is good. The Biden administration had allowed so many illegals in, including violent criminals and drug traffickers, that Homan can kick over any given rock and find a few hiding underneath.
But he wouldn't be able to do any of this without a great solid team to work with, and Homan has just that. He's so thrilled with his colleagues that, with all these roundups and deportations happening, he's feels excited about waking up every day to do his job.
Homan appeared on Fox News to talk about how the days of "catch and release" are gone and that deportation will happen immediately upon capture. This includes sending people to prisons like Gitmo and El Salvador.
He called President Trump a "game changer," and that while there's still a lot of work to be done, the team Trump put together is outstanding at doing it.
"This is the greatest team I've seen in my 40 years serving as a special agent," said Homan. "I've never seen a team this serious about making the country safe."
“I wake up every day like a kid in a candy shop getting ready to work," he added," and I know we're making a difference every day."

What a legend 🤣🔥
“We got a lot of tools in the toolbox. The El Salvador prison is one, we got GITMO, we got other countries. So, for those countries who push back... we'll send them to another country...” pic.twitter.com/ZSWzh4NpdD
According to Newsweek, ICE gave them the number of deportations so far, and while it's a lot, Homan is right. There's a lot more to do:
The agency told Newsweek that it had removed 28,319 people from the U.S. interior between January 20 and March 11, averaging to around 3,887 per week, or 555 a day. When the figure is taken as just those immigrants detained by ICE agents, Trump would be outpacing Biden's removal numbers.
However, this is just the deportations performed by ICE. This isn't considering the self-deportations currently ongoing, nor does it include the captures happening at the border itself.
Moreover, you have to consider that these deportations are made up mostly of major criminals, meaning that even these thousands of people gone is making America far safer.
