If you were wondering if Donald Trump's faith in God was strengthened and solidified after the assassination attempt in Butler, Pennsylvania, you don't have to wonder anymore.
During Trump's inaugural speech, Trump said something that many of us have been saying for some time.
He noted that he has been tested and tried more than any candidate in history, a fact which cannot be denied as he was subjected to not only endless lawfare but two assassination attempts.
As you'll remember, Trump was giving a campaign address in Butler when an assassin who managed to get up on a roof took aim and fired a shot at Trump. The bullet came close to hitting Trump squarely, but thanks to a miraculous turn of his head as he looked up at a chart, the bullet missed and grazed his ear instead, sparing Trump his life and proving to many that God had other plans for him.
This was the sentiment Trump gave, solidifying the moment as one where God's hand was directly involved. Surviving it, as well as all the other obstacles they put in his way, proved to Trump that he was destined to, as he says, "Make America Great Again."
"Those who wished to stop our cause have tried to take my freedom and, indeed, to take my life," said Trump. "Just a few months ago, in a beautiful Pennsylvania field, an assassin's bullet ripped through my ear."
"I felt then and believe even more so now that my life was saved for a reason: I was saved by God to make America great again," Trump said.

To be sure, Trump's path to the White House has been fraught with hate, vitriol, unnecessary attacks, invasions of his privacy, unfair accusations, and even brushes with death.
Yet, he survived and pushed through it all. After the moment in Butler, it was pretty clear to many Christians and believers that he was meant to be the next President.
It's stated in Romans 13:1 that "There is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God." When the bullet pierced Trump's ear despite the assassin having a clear shot that wasn't a very difficult one to pull off, it was clear to the faithful that Trump was chosen to lead by God.
This appears to be evident to Trump as well.
There was talk in the RedState live blog about whether that moment deepened Trump's faith. It appears that it did. Trump's words in his speech indicate a man who, if he didn't believe before, truly does now.
Moreover, this should be a wake-up moment for a lot of Americans. There is something far bigger than us guiding events. Trump was sworn in today, but God is the one who is truly in charge. We might have elected Trump, but God appointed him. That was made clear when the "millimeter miracle" as Pastor Lorenzo Sewell so eloquently put it during his prayer, happened in Butler.
Now, we get to see what it all meant and what it will lead to as Trump takes office. Judging by his words, we're going to see a lot of executive orders that will reverse the damage done to America to be proof that this new direction is one that will lead to America's golden age.
