At the CBS network, there is upheaval in the news division as the new parent company, Skydance-Paramount, has made a key move. The company bought out The Free Press, the upstart outlet begun by Bari Weiss, following her being chased from the New York Times. As a result, she has been inserted as the new Editor-in-Chief of CBS News. Her desire to bring journalism standards is upsetting those who call themselves journalists.
Then we cover what is said to be a scandal involving Border Czar Tom Homan. MSNBC has reported he was caught in an FBI sting accepting a bribe, and it was captured on film. Except that is what was said. There was no video supplied showing this. In fact, the reporters did not see this reported video; they were only provided a summary document fed to them by an anonymous source; yet, many in the press ran with this accusation, absent proof.
Then there is the news from the FBI that Jack Smith was discovered to have accessed the phone records of several GOP senators. What is remarkable in these two stories is that as the press is currently obsessed with accusing President Trump of weaponizing the DOJ; there is not a whisper from them about Biden weaponizing the DOJ for years.
We close out with some amusement as CNN’s Kaitlin Collins is bothered by President Trump making sombrero memes. She is more bothered that he is doing so, despite the press trying to shame him with accusations of racism.
