Yet he is the man claiming to have all the answers regarding the Covid-19 pandemic.
In a rather convenient bit of post-election timing news has come to light that a prominent charitable foundation operated by Joe and Jill Biden has not been sso charitable. In fact, it has not been charitable at all. The New York Post, risking further deplatforming, has broken the story of how Biden’s named charity has failed to deliver — literally.
Formed in 2017 after the end of the terms in the White House the Joe Biden Cancer Initiative was overseen directly by the former Vice President. It was effectively an extension of a Barack Obama effort, dubbed the Cancer Moonshot Task Force, begun in 2015. Biden had undertaken a leadership role in this effort, motivated primarily by the passing of his son, Beau Biden.
Once the JBCI was kicked off Biden invoked his son’s name, who died from a malignant brain tumor, in his currying favor for donations. The Post has dug into the tax records of the foundation and found that the bulk of the money taken in went strictly towards salaries and administrative expenses. The foundation had listed zero donations to actual cancer research nor grants towards similar efforts.
Looking over the records of the years 2017 and 2018 the JBCI took in close to $5 million in donations. Well over half of that money was paid out strictly in salaries over those two years – over $3 million. The president of the foundation saw his salary alone balloon over the course of those years. In the first year Gregory Simon, a lobbyist and executive from the pharma corporation Pfizer, collected $225,000. The next year his take nearly doubled, to $429,850.
The rest of the funds were applied to holding conferences and travel expenses. After those activities cost just over $115,000 in the first year the JBCI next spent almos $100,000 on travel, and more than $740,000 on conference expenditures. The foundation lists as its mission statement the intent ‘’to develop and drive implementation of solutions to accelerate progress in cancer prevention, detection, diagnosis, research and care and to reduce disparities in cancer outcomes’’.
Based on the financial reports it intended to do so by merely talking about doing things. Money spent on donations and grants was listed as $0.00.
The outfit has basically been placed in a state of suspended animation as a result of Biden’s run for the Presidency. Both JOe and Jill Biden had stepped away from the charity operations, effectively Calling a Lid on the foundation’s activities. Not that there would be a demonstrable side-effect in terms of cancer research suffering from a loss of support.
The Joe Biden Cancer Initiative appears to be set up like numerous other sham operations, where a non-profit position is taken but the money flowing in never is translated into functional use. The money is swallowed up entirely in bureaucratic operation ‘’expenses’’ and select individuals benefit greatly. This is the kind of operation we can now expect from the man the press has hailed as our savior in the time of Covid. We have no reason to expect anything approaching a solution, with this as his track record.
