New York AG Letitia James showed up at a Virginia courthouse on Friday to plead not guilty to federal charges of mortgage fraud. The brash, outspoken Democrat then spoke to a crowd of supporters, giving a comically tone-deaf speech in which she claimed the justice system was being "weaponized" against her because self-awareness is apparently not something she possesses.
The overacting here is genuinely hilarious to watch. I'm not sure who wrote this for her, but they should realize that James is not Martin Luther King, Jr.
"This is not about me. This is about all of us. And about a justice system which has been weaponized."

JAMES: So there's no fear today. No fear. No fear! No fear! No fear! Because I believe that justice will rain down like water, and righteousness like a mighty stream. And I'm here to say that my work, and my job, and all that I do, all throughout my public career, I've stood up for the rights of New Yorkers and Americans, and I will not be deterred. I will not, I will not be deterred! I will not be distracted! I will do my job each and every day, and that's why I'm headed back to New York, because there's work to be done standing up for the rule of law. God bless you and thank you all!
"Justice will rain down like water, and righteousness like a mighty stream?" Really, that's the line she's going with? Because, as RedState reported, the niece that James has living in her alleged mortgage fraud house is a fugitive from the law with a rap sheet a mile long. This isn't about fighting for racial equality, which has absolutely no relevance to this case. It is not "about all of us," as if the Trump administration is going after random people for non-crimes. It's about a corrupt politician who has repeatedly abused her office, finally being held accountable for one of her alleged legal transgressions.

Keep in mind that James came into office pledging to take down now-President Donald Trump by any means necessary, actual evidence of wrongdoing be damned. The idea that she's a paragon of virtue regarding the law is laughable. She was at the forefront of tearing down the boundaries when it came to using the justice system against one's political opponents. James doesn't get to call a timeout and proclaim her neutrality the moment the blowback arrives.
Besides, I've been assured that no one is above the law. In fact, James went so far as to write faux poetry mocking Trump on that point.

Violets are blue.
No one is above the law.
Even when you think the rules don’t apply to you.
Happy Valentine’s Day! ❤️
So yeah, this isn't a woman who deserves sympathy, nor does she deserve a single ounce of deference. Whatever norms existed, she took a sledgehammer to. James saw herself as untouchable, likely never believing Trump could win re-election. Those chickens are coming home to roost, and while I'm not confident a Norfolk-based jury will look at this case fairly, for the time being, she is subject to the same process she so egregiously weaponized against others. How's that for poetry?
Editor’s Note: The Schumer Shutdown is here. Rather than put the American people first, Chuck Schumer and the radical Democrats forced a government shutdown for healthcare for illegals. They own this.
