Letitia James Indictment: Press Reactions and Old Tweets Provide a Mother Lode of Schadenfreude

As RedState reported, what goes around has finally come around for New York Attorney General Letitia James.

After building her career on the promise to target Donald Trump, the Democrat has now been indicted for bank fraud. That comes after reports that the supervisor of the Department of Justice's Norfolk office was refusing to file charges, claiming no probable cause. In the end, the matter ended up in front of a grand jury, and that grand jury decided otherwise.

BREAKING: Letitia James Has Been Indicted

A mother lode of schadenfreude has followed the news, both regarding press reactions and James' own past statements, all of which seemed to assume that the alligator they raised and fed would never eat them. Trump ended up winning the 2024 election, though, and that means the standards put in place by Democrats are going to be enforced in kind.

Over on MSNBC, Nicolle Wallace and Andrew Weissmann, the latter of whom has a long history of weaponizing the justice system against Republicans, were almost in tears.

I seriously worry about Wallace's mental health at this point. She was so sure that Trump would end up in prison that she staked her entire personality on it. Weissmann is even worse because he took a taxpayer paycheck for decades while he used his office to target his political enemies. Repeatedly, these people told us that "no one is above the law," while they insisted that every norm broken was necessary to "save democracy." Well, that kind of scorched-earth strategy has consequences.

Frankly, I don't even care about the Democrat claim that this is "payback" or "revenge," and thus, is deeply improper. Improper was feeding a bogus legal theory to a compliant left-wing judge to try to jail a presidential candidate for what amounted to a disagreement over a QuickBooks entry. Improper was bringing multiple federal indictments in a ridiculous dot-connecting episode, whereby Trump was supposedly responsible for a riot he clearly had no prior knowledge of. Improper was pressing charges for retention of classified documents against the now-president while essentially claiming that Joe Biden was too old and senile to stand trial for the same thing.

So yeah, call it whatever you like. This is what happens when a political party throws everything out the window to try to win an election without considering they might lose that election.

Meanwhile, James' own posts are coming back to haunt her.

James made a mockery of the justice system to elevate her political career, and she did so with a nauseating level of arrogance, never fathoming that "no one is above the law" applies to her as well.

Am I confident she'll be found guilty in this case? No, because I fully expect some left-wing judge to do everything they can to protect her. Democrats are effectively immune from prosecution, no matter how damning the evidence. For today, though, there's some hint of justice being doled out, even if it's just having to endure the process.

Editor’s Note: The Schumer Shutdown is here. Rather than put the American people first, Chuck Schumer and the radical Democrats forced a government shutdown for healthcare for illegals. They own this.
