The Chinese Embassy Lashes Out With Insane Video, and It's Time to Drop the Hammer

On Wednesday, President Donald Trump announced that he had paused his global tariff regime for 90 days. That sent stocks soaring, but there was one notable exception: China.

Instead of relief, the communist nation was slapped with an even higher 125 percent tariff. How much has that rattled the CCP? By Thursday morning, their embassy was posting insane videos of Mao Zedong, if that gives you any indication.

For laughs, here is Mao Ning's title: Spokesperson of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of ChinaDG of Department of Press, Communication and Public Diplomacy.

If that's not a lesson in the inefficiencies of communism, I'm not sure what is. But perhaps Ning and the Chinese Embassy in the United States should calm down just a bit. For all the "we won't back down" talk, China spent the first half of the 20th century getting crushed by the Imperial Japanese until the United States showed up and then spent the second half murdering 60 million of its own people. So, maybe posting a video of the guy who did the latter isn't the best play here.

That's especially true given that China's economy is a house of cards, overly reliant on exports and currency manipulation to remain afloat. Without American consumerism, the CCP is cooked, and all the protectionism in the world isn't going to save them.

By the way, that video of Mao Zedong is from the Korean War era, and China would, in fact, back down.

It's time to drop the hammer on China. As long as the United States can avoid a prolonged trade war with our allies, we have the leverage to make them bend the knee. If they refuse to do so out of sheer arrogance and the desire to save face, then their economy will be crushed, and the yuan won't be worth the paper it's printed on.

If their embassy is going to post threats using Mao Zedong, then close their embassy. With a deal to buy TikTok off the table, it's also time to shut down that cesspool of a spy app in accordance with the law passed by Congress. That should have already been done, in my opinion, but we'll save that disagreement for another day.

China needs to tread lightly because the longer this goes on, the more it has to lose. American companies are already moving supply lines and seeking alternate manufacturing sites in other Asian nations. Once that happens, those corporations will never return that production to China because the risks are just too great. The CCP will lose its economic foothold forever. Is saving face and puffing their chest out more important than that? If it is, then let the communists suffer. It's long past time the United States decoupled from China anyway.
