Former Vice President Kamala Harris probably isn’t too happy with Jill Biden these days.
Appearing on Kelly Ripa's Let's Talk Off Camera podcast Wednesday, the former first lady said she doubts she’ll see a U.S. woman president in her lifetime and that she was really stunned when Kamala lost to Trump in 2024.
So what you’re saying is, Mrs. Biden, that Americans are too misogynistic to vote for a female commander in chief, and that Harris, who is widely seen as considering running again, has no chance in 2028?
Who needs enemies when Jill Biden is your friend? I can’t imagine Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is thrilled with this prediction either, considering she’s also been the subject of speculation regarding a presidential run.
During a conversation on Kelly Ripa's "Let's Talk Off Camera" podcast, Ripa asked the former first lady if she felt they would see a female president in their lifetimes.
"In my lifetime? Well, I'm 75. So, you know, I feel like probably not in my lifetime, Kelly, but maybe in yours," she responded.
Michigan Dem Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, who has also been part of the presidential conversation, might be taking out her Jill voodoo doll this weekend. Patrice Onwuka, vice president of economic policy at Independent Women, told Fox News that Biden’s was a shameful take:
"Jill Biden’s comments about never expecting to see a female president is a slap to the bench of female Democrats that have 2028 aspirations, like AOC and Gretchen Whitmer. The supposed party of women can’t even convince the former first lady of its prospects to elect a woman at the top of the ticket," Onwuka said.

There's More to Jill Biden's Story That Makes Her Actions More Despicable
Not only were Jill’s comments demeaning to women politicians, but there were signs in her interview that she might be living in an alternate reality altogether:
"But I really did think last time that Kamala was going to win. I mean, I was out on the campaign trail for her. I saw the excitement," Biden said. "I saw the crowds. I saw, you know, at the convention. I mean, I saw all the energy and I thought, 'Finally, we're going to have a woman president.'"
Did she miss the part about her being an absolutely terrible candidate who regularly turned basic interviews into virtual parodies and displayed such amazing political skill that she chose Jazz Hands Minnesota Gov. Walz as her running mate? Or that she blew through a billion-dollar war chest and yet was still handily thumped by Trump?
Biden echoes the sentiments of another former first lady, Michelle Obama, who told the New York Times in November 2025 that “America ain’t ready” for a woman at the top of the system. But both former presidential wives miss a crucial point: America didn’t send a female to the Oval Office in 2008, 2016, or 2024 not because we hate women, but because the candidates they put forth — Hillary Clinton twice and Harris once (so far) — were abysmal. That’s the reality.
