There's More to Jill Biden's Story That Makes Her Actions More Despicable

As we reported, Jill Biden is out with a new book and a new interview to promote it.

However, she's already facing a lot of backlash, as my RedState colleague Sister Toldjah explained, for some of the things that she's said. She said, for example, that she'd never seen Joe Biden behave as he did in his one disastrous 2024 debate with then-GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump, before or since. She was fearful, she said, that he was having a stroke or had some other medical issue.

Then, of course, they went to an after-event where she then encouraged supporters, praising Joe like a child and saying how he'd "answered every question" in an infamous video.

But it turns out, there's even a little more to that story.

According to The Atlantic.

That bluntness apparently resurfaced in the moments after the debate. As the president walked off the stage, he whispered to his wife, “I really f**ked up, didn’t I?” she writes. “‘Yes, you did,’ I whispered back.”

So hold on. She said she thought he had some kind of medical issue, and then she writes in the book that she told him he "f**ked up"? I thought you just said you thought he had a stroke or another medical issue.

But then she went with him immediately after the debate to meet with supporters, and tell them how Joe "answered every question" and Trump "lied." So she's now saying she was buffaloing those supporters with what she said? Is she even thinking about what she's saying here?

Then, too, was that thing about not seeing Joe look like that before or since. This take from The Atlantic doesn't help her.

Her mind then wandered to a more personal anxiety, considering how his nonsensical word salads—one of which ended with “we finally beat Medicare”—might implicate her as the person best positioned to know if the man who appeared to disassemble onstage was privately prone to incoherence. “Oh God—will people watching assume this is how he is all the time?” she writes in her new memoir, View From the East Wing, a copy of which The Atlantic obtained ahead of its June 2 release date.

Part of Jill Biden’s goal for writing a book about her four years as first lady, it seems, is to dispel bipartisan accusations that she was a hidden hand covering up her aging husband’s cognitive decline and nudging him to cling to power longer than his mind and body could sustain.

So she wrote it to dispel thoughts that she was gaslighting people?

Pro tip? That failed, and it makes it look even more like it was about her.

Now even some former aides are talking to the liberal media, who are pointing out problems in the story, as our sister site Townhall reported.

A former senior Biden campaign advisor tells me Jill Biden's comments are "revisionist history."

“She and a handful of other close advisors around President Biden kept gaslighting us, telling those of us on the campaign we were the ones who were wrong, and that he just had a ‘bad night.’ I think she saw the reputational harm this caused her and is therefore taking a new position.”

Oh.

Then, too, Axios reporter Alex Thompson wrote:

Biden aides had told Jake Tapper and me they had seen him act that way before and after. Those moments became more difficult to predict and conceal. And Jill joined Biden for several campaign events after the debate including a rally the next day.

So even the aides were giving her up.

And, of course, we knew Joe had issues because we were reporting on what we were seeing in public every day.

So instead of dispelling anything, Jill Biden just made herself look worse. If that's even possible.
