President Donald Trump took to social media to announce that the administration has brokered a ceasefire deal between longtime foes, Israel and Lebanon, and it will begin at 5 p.m. ET Thursday. The news came after Israel heavily pounded the Lebanese terror group Hezbollah earlier this month.
The ceasefire will last 10 days, according to the president:

Trump:
I just had excellent conversations with the Highly Respected President Joseph Aoun, of Lebanon, and Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu, of Israel. These two Leaders have agreed that in order to achieve PEACE between their Countries, they will formally begin a 10 Day CEASEFIRE at 5 P.M. EST.
The two enemies met face-to-face in our nation’s capital for the first time in decades:
On Tuesday, the two Countries met for the first time in 34 years here in Washington, D.C., with our Great Secretary of State, Marco Rubio. I have directed Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Rubio, together with the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Dan Razin' Caine, to work with Israel and Lebanon to achieve a Lasting PEACE. It has been my Honor to solve 9 Wars across the World, and this will be my 10th, so let's, GET IT DONE! President DONALD J. TRUMP

As RedState’s Nick Arama wrote Wednesday, a lasting peace between the neighbors would greatly benefit the Middle East as a whole:
If they get Lebanon more on board with holding Hezbollah in check, that could incapacitate another avenue of Iranian terror and an organization involved in killing at least hundreds of Americans. As Rubio said, it was about putting a "permanent end to 20 or 30 years of Hezbollah's influence," and the damage they've caused. He helped to get them to meet for the first time in decades.
This is breaking news, and we will keep you posted as new details come in.
