UPDATE 1/14/26 12:30 p.m. ET: Minutes after publication of this article, Fox News reported that DHS has confirmed the injuries described in the story below.

You’ve seen the screeching from the left as they accuse the ICE agent who shot and killed agitator Renee Good in Minneapolis of “murder.” You’ve seen agitators like Mayor Jacob Frey mock the agent, saying he “walked away with a hop in his step,” and questioning his actions even though Good was driving a 4,000 lb. vehicle toward him.

There have been numerous angles of the incident spread on social media, and some pundits, usually on the conservative side, say that they clearly show the agent was hit by Good’s Honda Pilot. Leftists, meanwhile, argue that she was trying to avoid him and barely grazed him, if that. What they miss in that analysis, however, is that either way, she was defying legal orders from a federal law enforcement officer and acting in a threatening manner.

A new report from CBS News, however, could change the entire narrative and explode Democrats’ talking points. You see, according to the outlet, now under the control of editor-in-chief Bari Weiss, the agent suffered injuries from Good’s vehicle:

The Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent who fatally shot Renee Good last week in Minneapolis, Jonathan Ross, suffered internal bleeding to the torso following the incident, according to two U.S. officials briefed on his medical condition.

It was unclear how extensive the bleeding was. CBS News has reached out to the Department of Homeland Security for more information and has not yet received a reply. This story will be updated as we learn more.

Already, some pundits are taking to the internet to claim that the report is false. If true, however, the Democrats are going to need buckets of towels to wipe all the egg off their faces.

If the agent did indeed receive significant injuries, it’s going to destroy hot takes like this:

Homeland Security Director Kristi Noem had spoken about the agent’s condition previously, but did not mention anything about internal bleeding:

Kristi Noem, the Homeland Security secretary, previously acknowledged that Ross was taken to the hospital after the shooting and was released the same day. She said he was recovering from his injuries, describing him as an experienced law enforcement officer who believed he was defending himself and fellow agents.

"The officer was hit by the vehicle. She hit him. He went to the hospital. A doctor did treat him. He has been released," Noem told reporters on Jan. 7.

Currently, according to Border Czar Tom Homan, the agent is in hiding and has received numerous death threats.

If this report is verified, it will be a game-changer in the discussions about ICE and the use of force. RedState will bring you updates as new information comes in.
