It’s another day ending in “y,” so it’s another day when a federal judge jumps in to thwart the Trump administration.
On Monday, Judge Cameron McGowan Currie tossed the cases against Former FBI Director James Comey and current New York Attorney General Letitia James, ruling that Attorney General Pam Bondi's appointment of Lindsey Halligan as interim U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia was invalid.
The Department of Justice is almost certain to appeal the ruling. Meanwhile, the case was dismissed without prejudice, meaning the charges could still be refiled, although in the case of Comey, that may be in doubt given that the statute of limitations has since run.
Why it matters: The decision is a major rebuke of the retribution campaign against Trump's longtime enemy. Trump's Justice Department had rushed to secure Comey's indictment ahead of the statute of limitations that has since passed.
Driving the news: Judge Cameron McGowan Currie dismissed the case without prejudice, not clearing Comey from future prosecution on the charges.

My question? Where were all these judges when Trump was being relentlessly hounded by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, Letitia James, and the corrupt Joe Biden/Merrick Garland DOJ? They just stood on the sidelines and let it all happen.
