If there’s anyone who should know a thing or two about malicious prosecution, it’s former FBI Director James Comey, who helped engineer the corrupt investigations into Donald Trump over alleged, never-proven “Russia collusion." Now it’s Comey himself who’s on the hot seat, as he’s been indicted by the DOJ on federal charges of making a false statement to Congress and obstructing a congressional investigation related to his 2020 Senate testimony.
His alleged lie: he denied that he authorized anonymous leaks to the press about the Hillary Clinton classified emails case and Trump's concocted, supposed ties to Russian election interference plots.
According to John Solomon over at Just the News, however, the DOJ has the receipts showing otherwise:
Federal prosecutors revealed Monday they have unearthed a trove of personal emails showing then-FBI Director James Comey openly talked in the days before the 2016 election that he expected to be working soon for President-elect Hillary Clinton and was being kept apprised by a top FBI aide on efforts to anonymously provide information to the news media.

The notes also show that Comey thought he was going to be working for President-elect Hillary Clinton after the election.
So the guy who was protecting Hillary Clinton’s emails & knew of the fake plan to frame Trump as a Russian agent thought he was gonna get a new job?

Comey Responds Predictably to Indictment With Self-Pitying, Sanctimonious Video—'I Am Innocent'
The DOJ argued that the emails prove that Comey knew about the leaking, authorized it, yet testified otherwise:
Halligan's filing said the emails showed Comey was aware of and encouraging Richman's contacts with the media, contrary to his claims to Congress.
"Consistent with the above-described correspondence, Richman corresponded extensively with members of the media regarding or on behalf of the defendant, including in an anonymous capacity," the DOJ court filing argued.
It wasn’t the only action on the case Monday – prosecutors also argued that Comey’s attempt to get the case thrown out because he was being “vindictively” prosecuted was a bunch of hogwash:
Federal prosecutors on Monday urged the federal judge overseeing former FBI Director James Comey's criminal case to reject arguments from Comey that he is being "vindictively" prosecuted at the order of President Donald Trump, in a court filing that directly defended Trump's social media posts calling for Comey's prosecution.
"Through a mix of news reports, social media posts, and speculation, the defendant weaves a tale of what he calls 'glaring constitutional violations' that resulted in his indictment for making a false statement to Congress and obstructing a Congressional investigation," prosecutors said in the filing. "When the rigorous legal standard is applied to the facts here, it is clear that the defendant has failed to show the Constitution requires the Court to take the extraordinary step of dismissing this case."
