It can't be much fun working at CBS News these days, as their overwhelming liberal bias keeps getting exposed in embarrassing ways and they keep having to pay the price. Already, "60 Minutes" veteran producer Bill Owens resigned in a huff in April, and they’re in settlement talks with Donald Trump over their deceptive editing of a Kamala Harris interview just before the November presidential election.
The latest casualty is the outlet’s News President Wendy McMahon, who shocked staffers Monday when she announced she too is jumping ship.
Ms. McMahon, whose full title was president of CBS News and Stations, said in a memo that “it’s become clear the company and I do not agree on the path forward.”
Tensions between Ms. McMahon and CBS’s parent company, Paramount, have simmered for months, a period that Ms. McMahon described in her memo as “challenging.”
It must be very “challenging” indeed when the corporate bosses demand that you stop misleading the public all the time.

As we reported, the network has a long history of extreme bias, but things really came to a head after the Kamala interview disaster:
CBS News has a history of dishonest reporting, and Donald Trump called them out on it. He sued the outlet for $10 billion (later raised to 20) over their deceptive edits of an interview with Kamala Harris before the ’24 presidential election. In one version, she rambled on in one of her typical word salads, but in another, they spliced clips together to make her sound coherent and intelligent. Since we know she is neither, it was a clearly cynical effort to affect the minds of voters.
Now it’s time to pay up.

The outgoing news chief hasn’t had an easy ride in her post:
Ms. McMahon’s tenure atop CBS News, which she took over in August 2023, has been rocky at times.
An overhaul of “CBS Evening News,” introduced earlier this year, has failed to connect with viewers, and ratings for the flagship newscast have fallen sharply. Besides the tussle with Mr. Trump, the news division also faced internal criticism from Ms. Redstone over a “60 Minutes” segment in January about the war between Israel and Hamas.
And Ms. Redstone openly criticized Ms. McMahon’s handling of an October incident involving the “CBS Mornings” anchor Tony Dokoupil, who in an interview had challenged the author Ta-Nehisi Coates’s views about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

And so it is: another one bites the dust at CBS News. They thoroughly earned this ongoing humiliation, however, so I shed not a single tear for them.
