Is anyone tired yet of watching White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt regularly destroy left-leaning journalists who ask loaded, obviously hostile questions about the Trump administration and its policies?

I’m not.

After watching first “Circle Back” Jen Psaki and then the ever-petulant Karine Jean-Pierre making a mockery of the job for four long years during Joe Biden’s Reign of Terror, I for one can tell you that I’m not bored with it—not even a little bit. Instead of lying and gaslighting and refusing to talk straight like her two predecessors, she comes armed with a no-nonsense but polite attitude (and a sunny smile), brings actual facts, and doesn’t take guff from anyone.

She was at it again Tuesday in the WH press briefing room when she was asked about Joe Biden’s speech on Social Security that was scheduled for Tuesday evening. The reporter tried to play gotcha about supposed cuts to the program, but Leavitt took out a 3-iron and smacked both the “journalist” and Biden 400 yards down the fairway.

A reporter asked her to respond to Joe Biden’s upcoming speech, where the former president is expected to accuse Trump of slashing Social Security—citing office closures, long wait times, and difficulties for seniors and the disabled.

Her quip about Biden was one for the ages:

“My first reaction when seeing former President Biden was speaking tonight was—I’m shocked he is speaking at nighttime,” she said. “I thought his bedtime was much earlier than his speech tonight.”

Now, I know liberals would immediately declare that this wasn’t epic, it was just plain mean-spirited, and making fun of an old, deteriorating man is just inappropriate. However, my answer is that she was doing a lot more than just mocking Ole Joe—she was reminding the press and many in the room that they participated in one of the great cover-ups in political history as they aided and abetted the gaslighting over his condition.

No decent person would make fun of a person’s cognitive decline for sport; the reason it’s important never to forget what happened is because it put the entire country in danger.

Meanwhile, the reporter had asked her this loaded question:

“I want to get the president’s response,” the reporter asked, “to what Democrats are calling cuts to Social Security.”

Karine Jean-Pierre would have needed six notebooks and extra time to deliver an answer this succinct, but Leavitt just dropped this smackdown off the cuff:

“I understand the topic of his speech will be Social Security. Let me make it clear ahead of former President Biden’s remarks: the president—this president, President Trump—is absolutely certain about protecting Social Security benefits for law-abiding, taxpaying American citizens and seniors who have paid into the program.” 

“He will always protect that program. He campaigned on it, he protected it in his first term, and he’s back again to continue protecting it.”

One of the most frustrating things about being a writer during the Biden years was knowing that we were being lied to constantly—and we reported endlessly about those lies—but just feeling that they were getting away with it. Well, November was payback time, and the mainstream corporate media deserves every single smackdown and humiliation that Leavitt and other members of the Trump administration can deliver. They earned it.
