Fetterman: Gavin Newsom Doesn't Have 'the Guts' to Announce, Slams Shadow Presidential Candidacy

It never occurred to me after watching Senator John Fetterman's (D-PA) bizarre campaign that I would be writing a story opining that he is 100 percent correct on an issue, but as of late, the guy's actually been getting it right on some things. He was the first to call for the removal of Sen. Bob Menendez (D-NJ), currently facing federal charges of conspiracy to act as a foreign agent for the Egyptian government, and his loyalty to Israel has been in stark contrast to the hysterical anti-Israel response of some of his Democrat colleagues.

So I could hardly believe it when I found myself nodding in agreement when reading his comments about the shadow presidential candidacy of California Governor Gavin Newsom. Governor Hair Gel just got back from an ill-fated trip to China, also showed up in Israel recently for no apparent reason, and has been taking pot-shots at red-state governors like Florida's Ron DeSantis and Texas' Greg Abbott

He even has plans to debate DeSantis on November 30, even though only one of the two is formally running for president.

In other words, he's been doing these things and more—things you only would do if you were running for higher office, not things you would do if you were actually trying to improve your home state.

NBC News reports that on Saturday at an Iowa Democratic Party dinner, Fetterman took the gloves off:

Fetterman noted that Rep. Dean Phillips (D-Minn.) has challenged Biden, but he then also took a shot at Newsom, who is widely seen as a potential Democratic presidential candidate but who is not running and has deferred to Biden.

Fetterman told the crowd there are two Democrats “running for president right now” in addition to Biden.

“One is a congressman from Minnesota, the other is the governor of California, but only one has the guts to announce it,” Fetterman told the crowd, per NBC News.

Boom! Wrote Rep. Kevin Kiley (R-CA):

Fetterman and Kiley are far from alone in accusing Newsom of playing coy. Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy expressed similar views in Iowa City in October and also called out the disastrous performance of the governor:

The man is running for president, doing it and doing it in disguise, doing it with a track record at a state that is more disastrous by the day.

Newsom has repeatedly shot down rumors that he's running, and he said in an interview on NBC News' "Meet the Press" in September that he has no plans to run for president in 2024 and is instead "looking forward" to helping Biden get re-elected.

As Joe would say, c'mon man.

Biden is becoming more and more compromised as of late, and his public appearances have been disastrous as he bumbles and stumbles. Meanwhile, his approval ratings are the lowest for an incumbent seeking reelection at this point in their presidency since Jimmy Carter.

Newsom knows that if the president is unable to continue, he'll instantly be considered a top contender. Kamala Harris can't win because, well, she's Kamala Harris. Although Newsom has been a disaster for the Golden State, he nevertheless says the right woke things and is fully on board with every extremist talking point of the left.

I never thought I'd be saying this, but John Fetterman is right on target, and good for him for calling it out.
