Dems Mock Fulton County Defendants as Anticipation Builds for Trump's Mugshot

This is what Democrats have dreamed of almost since Donald Trump famously came down the escalator in 2015 to announce his candidacy for president—mugshots. Jailhouse photos of the now-former president and his allies.

And although some shots have already been released—including photos of former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, former Trump Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, and more—those on the left are salivating over the big catch—the frontrunner for the GOP nomination himself, Donald Trump, who is expected to surrender himself to the Fulton County Georgia Jail Thursday evening.

This is all courtesy of Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis, who has charged 19 defendants on a variety of charges regarding alleged election subversion.

Here's a compilation of shots so far:

Although the parade of mugshots might be humorous to some, it should not overshadow the seriousness of what’s happening—Democrats are hauling Trump and his allies into the jailhouse even though he is the main opponent of the current president, Joe Biden.

Our country has never seen anything like it before, and ramifications will be felt for years.

Democrats, of course, are reveling in the situation and mocking Trump and the other defendants. Somehow they seem not to realize that the precedent that is being set could someday be used on them.

"Smile Rudy your [sic] on camera," Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) Omar posted on her Instagram story.

Disgraced former Minnesota Senator Al Franken weighed in:

Here’s John Cooper,  a former Long Island elected official who helped found an anti-Trump super PAC:

Some of those who posed for the camera, though, are taking it in stride. Here’s attorney Jenna Ellis, who’s now using her mugshot for her X profile picture:

Lara Trump, who’s married to the former president’s son Eric, appeared on NewsMax Wednesday to say that a mugshot is unnecessary and will only strengthen his support:

It’s absurd to think that Donald Trump, who is one of the most famous people in the world, if not the most famous in the world, would ever need one.

But we know the goal with this ad is to try and embarrass him in some way.

But I think it’s going to backfire on them, just like everything else does.

It’s going to be on posters and people’s dorm rooms. It’s going to be on t-shirts. It is going to be a flag flown by people who love this country because they’re backing Donald Trump.

It promises to be an interesting evening.
