It should be apparent to most Americans by now that we will be dealing with the fallout from the Biden administration's soft-on-crime policies for perhaps decades to come. It is most apparent in blue cities where Soros-backed liberal Democrat prosecutors and district attorneys care more about a criminal's rotten childhood than they do their victims. Republicans have been sounding the alarm on this issue for years, as the left and the media simply ignore the problem. Now, there is actual proof that we have been right all along.

A study conducted by Vanderbilt University economist Panka Bencsik and Wellesley College professor Tyler Giles looked at various counties that elected prosecutors and DAs from both parties. What their research shows is a no-brainer, and should frighten those who still vote for these people into a harsh reality. The study took data from closely contested elections from 2010 to 2019. The election of Republican prosecutors reduced all-cause mortality rates among young men aged 20-29 by 6.6 percent. The result of this study should be especially interesting considering Democrats' claim to be the champions of black Americans and other minority groups. It went on to say that:
"This decline is driven predominantly by reductions in firearm-related deaths, including a large reduction in firearm homicide among Black men and a smaller reduction in firearm suicides and accidents primarily among White men. Mechanism analyses indicate that increased prison-based incapacitation explains about one third of the effect among Black men and none of the effect among White men. Instead, the primary channel appears to be substantial increases in criminal conviction rates across racial groups and crime types, which then reduce firearm access through legal restrictions on gun ownership for the convicted."
Simply put, these young men, predominantly young black men, are dying at a slower rate due to Republican prosecutors and DAs who are willing to enforce the law and incarcerate offenders, so they cannot prey on any other innocent victims. The survey also points out the lack of prosecutions of gang-related violence in places like Chicago, which also disproportionately affects young black men.

The study explains that electing a Republican DA leads to a large reduction in firearm homicide in black men and a smaller reduction in firearm suicide in white men. Conservatives may not be surprised that electing Soros-backed district attorneys who routinely downgrade charges and release violent criminals back onto the streets leads to more violence and death. This study is another example confirming the obvious: stopping crime can be as simple as putting criminals in jail.
My colleague Sister Toldjah recently reported on one of the latest examples of Democrats caring more about criminals than victims: The horrific case of Ukrainian refugee Iryna Zarutska. Zarutska was stabbed on a Charlotte, North Carolina, light rail train last August, sparking outrage when it was learned that her alleged killer, Decarlos Brown Jr., was a repeat offender who reaped the benefit of a then-Democrat Gov. Roy Cooper's 2020 COVID-era executive order. He should never have been out on the street in the first place.

In an election year like 2026, sadly, there is no shortage of Democrat prosecutor soft-on-crime stories for Republicans to whip out on Democrat candidates, but now there are numbers to back it up. Apparently, putting criminals in jail to lower the crime rate really does work. But along with defending and supporting illegal immigrants, seeing that they are repeat criminals, appears to be one more illogical hill Democrats, the party of compassion, seem all too willing to die on.
