Cringeworthy TDS Speculation on the Vegas Cybertruck Attack Proves Once Again CNN Has Learned Nothing

As Americans are still reeling from the horrific New Year's terrorist attack in New Orleans and the subsequent explosion of a Tesla Cybertruck in Las Vegas, local and federal law enforcement are trying to keep the public informed with the most accurate and up-to-date information possible. The possible information about the two events being connected or even coordinated has trickled out, as officials verify the bits of intelligence they receive.

Valid questions about what federal agencies knew versus what they were focused on before the attack are now being asked, but those questions are not a priority for everyone. Enter CNN.

Following the attack in New Orleans by the man now identified as Shamsud-Din Jabbar, who drove a truck into a Bourbon Street crowd celebrating the new year, later on New Year's Day morning, a man drove a Tesla Cybertruck into the valet area near the entrance of the Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas, where it exploded and burst into flames. The now-deceased driver of that truck has been identified as 37-year-old Matthew Livelsberger of Colorado Springs. While Jabbar was a U.S. Army veteran, Livelsberger was active military; both men served simultaneously for a time at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. A LinkedIn profile states that Livelsberger was a Special Forces Green Beret.

Investigation Widens, As FBI, Texas Police Sweep Location Connected to Bourbon Street Attacker

The time both Jabbar and Livelsberger served together at Fort Bragg will undoubtedly be part of both investigations. But that is not what the Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS)-addled folks at CNN are worried about. When they hear titles like "Special Forces Green Beret," they immediately go to...Trump supporter.

On Thursday, a CNN panel discussion including a woman named Beth Sanner, who CNN billed as a "national security analyst," posited this little nugget:

"Well, it's all speculation at this point, and we don't know whether this person was, you know, pro-Trump, anti-Trump, maybe some kind of Islamic connection, although I don't think that."

Is this woman implying that if Livelsberger is a Trump supporter, that this is somehow Donald Trump's fault? Let's examine this truly impressive demonstration of TDS acrobatics. So, a guy (who happens to be in the military) drives a vehicle right up to a high-rise building that bears the name "Trump." The vehicle promptly explodes. Wouldn't the first thought of rational people be that he wants to do damage to the building because it is a Trump building? The operative word here is clearly "rational."

But has the CNN panelist kind of let the cat out of the bag? When it was revealed that the suspect was military, Sanner immediately jumped to the possibility he was a Trump supporter. Is Trump supporter some kind of code speak for "a guy who would blow up a vehicle"? Apparently, for people who think this way, military, Trump supporter, guy who blows up a vehicle--it's all the same. That mental stretch has to be causing a cramp, even for a CNN panelist.

Most of us already knew that media outlets like CNN learned absolutely nothing after the election. They paid zero attention to what the American people said they wanted, and they will continue not to pay attention. Even as their ratings tank, they are blinded by the ravages of TDS.

Keep in mind that we are in the early stages of these investigations. But at some point, it is probably a safe bet that we can fully expect CNN to expand to finding the blame falls on other, usual villains of the left.
