President Trump was heading to Camp David earlier on Sunday to huddle with military advisors and others in his administration, in the aftermath of Los Angeles turning into a mishmash of violence and disorder during anti-ICE protests, which began on Friday there. More on his latest comments in a minute, since this needs a little background from Saturday night.
I think it might be useful to show ahead of time, also, how Homeland Security is being as clear as possible about the consequences for anyone causing havoc or working to raise the current unrest in L.A. They are not playing around about attempted assaults on officers and intentional damage to federal property:

As many readers know by now, the president federalized the state National Guard in California Saturday, despite the Democrat governor and local officials failing to step up to quell the chaos. The LAPD leadership also didn't exactly cover themselves in glory with how they reacted to the reality of things.
Hoo Boy: LAPD Puts Out Statement About Anti-ICE Riots That Has Everyone Talking
Late Saturday night, Border Czar Tom Homan while on the ground in California spoke with NBC News reporter Jacob Soboroff about the unrest. Homan pinpointed the key to this happening, saying that the escalating rhetoric from the Left, including Dem leaders like Governor Gavin Newsom and L.A. Mayor Karen Bass, against ICE and DHS efforts to detain and repatriate illegal aliens, is what led to this situation. "It was only a matter of time," he explained.
When Soboroff followed up by asking if officials like Bass and Newsom could be arrested for standing against the administration's immigration round-up policy, as Homan and others have said previously about state and local officials nationwide, Homan didn't mince words.
"I’ll say [it] about anybody,” the Border Czar told NBC News, reminding everyone of the law. “It’s a felony to knowingly harbor and conceal an illegal alien. It’s a felony to impede law enforcement from doing their job.”
He continued with what the California officials could do instead to help the Trump administration to calm things down: “Help us take these criminals off the street. Stop applauding the protesters and support law enforcement."
Homan singled out the governor, saying, “Gov. Newsom should be on the phone thanking President Trump for making a state safer.”

Listen to LA Mayor Karen Bass' Unhinged Comments About Her City's Riots
Back to Pres. Trump. He wrote a little bit ago on his Truth Social account about the situation in Los Angeles, which he called "a once great city."
"Los Angeles...has been invaded and occupied by Illegal Aliens and Criminals. Now violent, insurrectionist mobs are swarming and attacking our Federal Agents to try and stop our deportation operations," the president wrote.
"But these lawless riots only strengthen our resolve," Trump continued. "I am directing Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem, Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, and Attorney General Pam Bondi, in coordination with all other relevant Departments and Agencies, to take all such action necessary to liberate Los Angeles from the Migrant Invasion, and put an end to these Migrant riots. Order will be restored, the Illegals will be expelled, and Los Angeles will be set free."
As he was boarding Air Force One this afternoon, the media gaggle threw questions at Pres. Trump about the anti-ICE riots in L.A. He was unequivocal about how different the outcome with be, compared with under President Biden or whomever was operating the autopen:
.@POTUS on anti-ICE riots: "We're not going to let this happen to our country. We're not going to let our country be torn apart like it was under Biden and his autopen." pic.twitter.com/ijLynl88Bu

It's something Vice President JD Vance underlined in what he said on Saturday, also, harkening back to Biden's purposeful border disaster over the past four years.
This quote by Trump could work as a bumper sticker on the crucial nature of enforcing the rule of law:

"Law and order" will be restored, wherever American citizens face danger like this, he said:

Here's the money quote, though, where Trump confirmed what Homan said about Gov. Newsom and Mayor Bass trying to "stand in the way" of ICE and DHS. It won't happen, in other words:
.@POTUS: "If officials stand in the way of law and order, yeah, they will face charges." pic.twitter.com/B1v9ptehWq

This is exactly what is needed. Clear and direct statements across the board from the White House, to the Democrats and their horde of violent mobs in the streets of L.A. We will return things to order as Republicans--no matter who says otherwise.
Update: As I wrote back in January, the leftists in these sanctuary cities and states have no one to blame but themselves. Homan and Trump have been as clear as an Alpine lake about what was on the way:
On ABC News' "This Week," host Martha Raddatz attempted to shame him over Trump's Day One executive order reauthorizing ICE to seek out illegals in or near "schools, hospitals, churches."
He didn't even flinch, shooting back a question at Raddatz, before answering it:
How many MS-13 members are the age 14 to 17? Many of them.
Bingo. And the answer to all of the wailing and gnashing of teeth from the Left is pretty simple: When you show you cannot be trusted with operational details about federal actions just to spite Donald Trump and without a care about the sovereignty of the U.S., what exactly did you expect to happen?
There it is.
Editor's Note: President Trump isn't going to allow lawlessness to reign in America. We will not have a repeat of 2020's "Summer of Love."
