As the late, great Paul Harvey regularly pointed out, it's not one world. As a great example of this, look at much of Europe and their displays of what we can only describe as suicidal empathy. The once-great nations of Europe are allowing in "asylum seekers" from the Third World, to the point where those people are causing some major headaches. Not only are they overloading Europe's generous social welfare systems, but they are also engaging in behaviors that may have been accepted in whatever Third World hellhole they came from, but not in the civilized world.
In so doing, the "asylum seekers" are transforming swathes of nations like the United Kingdom to look more like the countries they came from. The old saying applies: "Import the Third World, become the Third World." And that bad part is this: These behaviors are, in some cases, beginning to rub off on the locals.
Case in point: The U.K.'s Home Office, more or less the equivalent of our Department of Homeland Security, recently released what they are calling a "guide for asylum seekers," entitled "Understanding behaviours and expectations in the UK". A quick look at the behaviors they have to warn the "asylum seekers" away from is telling.
First, expectations: the leaflet talks about gender equality, taken for granted by the British, unknown where most of the "asylum seekers" come from.
In the UK, men and women have equal rights. This is an important part of UK culture and is protected by law. Women can:
- work and earn their own money
- study and go to school or university
- travel freely
- choose who they marry, or choose not to marry
- make their own decisions about their lives
Women do not need permission from a husband, father, brother or any other man to do any of these things.
In the civilized world, this is taken for granted. The people coming to the UK right now must be warned that this isn't acceptable behavior in the UK. The question is, what good is a pamphlet when set against a thousand years of routine suppression of women?
Speaking of which:
Domestic abuse is when someone hurts, threatens, or controls their partner or family member. It can happen to anyone, regardless of their gender, age, or background.
Domestic abuse includes:
- physical violence – hitting, pushing, kicking, or any physical harm
- threats – saying you will hurt someone or making them afraid
- controlling behaviour – controlling someone’s money, where they go, or who they can see
- emotional abuse – criticism, humiliation, or making someone feel worthless
- taking away documents – keeping someone’s passport or identity documents from them
Again, this is accepted behavior in too many places, like the Middle East. And the UK is importing people who must be waved away from behaviors like these. And, again, it seems like a pamphlet warning against this, when set against a thousand years of routine abuse, is pretty much the definition of impotent.
Here's the real eye-opener:
Consent means both people freely agree to sex or sexual contact.
In the UK, the law is clear and strict: both people must agree to sex or sexual contact of any kind. This means:
- both people must say yes freely, without threat or pressure
- someone can change their mind at any time, even if they said yes before
- if someone is asleep, drunk, or unable to respond, they cannot consent Consent is needed in every situation.
This means even if you are married or in a relationship with someone, they must consent to sex every time.
This will slide off the "asylum seekers" like water off a duck's back.
It gets worse. There is some evidence that this mindset is moving into the young people native to Britain. A piece from Sunday's Daily Sceptic brings the account of a screenshot from a consent course at a Russell Group university that reads:
“Why Consent Matters: Non-fatal strangulation and consent. Non-fatal strangulation (sometimes referred to as choking) involves pressure being applied to a person’s neck, affecting their breathing, blood flow to the brain or both. It can involve hands, an arm or another object being placed around the…” [screenshot ends.]
This is what the United Kingdom has come to when college students have to be warned to get consent before strangling someone. This is what happens when a civilized nation allows a nigh-unchecked wave of immigration, of people who come from societies where the kind of behaviors described above are routine.
And let's be real about it: These pamphlets and consent courses are futile. You cannot wipe away a culture where, for thousands of years, women have been treated as property, with a few words on printed paper. You cannot wipe away the standards of a society that allows spousal abuse and honor killings. You cannot wipe away the standards of a society that sees Western women as targets for sexual assault because they don't dress up as trash bags. You simply can't, and the people of the United Kingdom and indeed much of Europe are learning this the hard way.
When you import the Third World, you become the Third World.
The United Kingdom and, indeed, much of Europe, are facing a crisis of suicidal empathy. And watch Europe, as I am continually warning, because the American left would put us on the same course. Watch, and vote.
