At least 1,200 illegal aliens are off the streets in Georgia, including 720 convicted criminals. In what's being called Operation Safe Community in Atlanta. Immigration & Customs Enforcement (ICE) took the lead on the roundup.

Speaking on Fox News' Fox & Friends on Friday, executive associate director of ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations Marcos Charles brought the details.
Federal immigration officers arrested more than 1,200 illegal immigrants in the Atlanta, Georgia area, including 720 who DHS said had been convicted of or charged with crimes.
Speaking on " Fox & Friends," Marcos Charles, executive associate director of ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations, said the sweep took violent criminals — including sex offenders and child abusers — off the streets.
"We arrested over 1,200 aliens, illegal aliens, out in the Atlanta, Georgia area. More than half of those people had criminal histories," Charles said.
The list of crimes is an eye-opener:
"We're talking about sex crimes, assault and battery, some with DUI convictions, domestic violence. These individuals needed to be taken off the street, not only because they're criminals, but because they are here illegally in the United States," he added.
Being in the United States illegally is enough reason to detain and deport, but we note that over half of the goblins detained were convicted criminals. Over half. These are not people we want in the United States. We simply have no place for such people. One of the people arrested was reportedly a Mexican national caught with 500 grams of methamphetamine; another was from El Salvador, with an arrest record that included domestic violence, child abuse, and driving while intoxicated.
These are people who Democrats want to allow to stay in the United States. They are here illegally, and they have committed other crimes while here, and Democrats are fighting tooth and nail to keep them here.
As we have seen since early 2025, this is just part of a greater effort.
In July, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement recorded approximately 51,000 immigration arrests, which ICE said was its highest monthly total ever, surpassing the 43,000 arrests recorded in June.
While all this is going on, DHS reports a horrendous increase in threats against and assaults on ICE agents. Violent rhetoric from the political left has fueled these attacks, and we can only expect the rhetoric to continue.
Even so, ICE sure looks to be getting the job done.
Here's the thing: None of this is fueled by any real concern over the people here illegally. During the presidency of Barack Obama, over three million people in the United States illegally were detained and deported. They were detained and deported by ICE, just as now; they were detained and deported through the same legal process they are being detained and deported under today. Nobody was calling ICE "Gestapo" or "Nazis" while Barack Obama was president. No, this is not fueled by any concern for these illegal aliens and criminals; this is driven by Trump Derangement Syndrome, nothing but.
Principals, not principles. That's what the Left is all about.
Editor’s Note: ICE and CBP continue to put themselves in harm's way in order to protect America’s sovereignty and to keep our streets safe.
