It's instructive to look at trends in the United Kingdom. Why? Because it's what the American left would have in store for us, if given the opportunity. The once-Great Britain, as I am continually pointing out, was once America, Original Recipe. Now? The British left has taken the nation that was once the center of a global empire, the nation with the most powerful navy in history that once enforced a Pax Britannica on the world's oceans, and they have reduced that great island nation to what it is now, which is to say, not much.
Nowadays, the once-Great Britain, driven in no small part by its leftist Labour Party, is changing in ways that are hard to fathom. Like much of Europe, they have thrown their doors open to "refugees" from all over the Third World. Like much of Europe, they are now dealing with the steady increase in demands from these "refugees." Like much of Europe, those "refugees" are demanding that Britain change to suit them - to resemble the third-world feces-holes they left.
And Britain is accommodating them. Most recently, in British schools and workplaces, where free speech is being curtailed to avoid offending this ever-more-vocal minority.
Schools, councils and workplaces will be encouraged to monitor incidents of anti-Muslim hostility under Labour plans that critics warn risk having a “chilling effect” on free speech.
The Government on Monday unveiled a definition of anti-Muslim hostility as part of its strategy for social cohesion.
Public, private and charity bodies are to be urged to adopt the non-statutory definition, which was going to be of Islamophobia before the description was changed amid fears it could amount to a blasphemy law by the back door.
Will these schools, councils, and workplaces also be encouraged to monitor Muslim hostility? Will they be encouraged to report the increasing numbers of Islamic no-go zones that other European nations have been dealing with for some time, and which now reports indicate are popping up in Britain?
This is a chilling infringement on free speech, which Britain once claimed to revere. But that Britain isn't this Britain.
Announcing the plan in the Commons, Steve Reed, the Communities Secretary, said the Government had a duty to act against record levels of hate crime against Muslims, but that “you can’t tackle a problem if you can’t describe it”.
However, the move drew warnings from Tories and free speech campaigners that it could hinder “legitimate criticism of Islamism”.
There are also fears it could lead to a system as controversial as non-crime hate incidents, which have been criticised for drawing police into investigating online spats and are expected to be scrapped.
And there's plenty of legitimate criticism of Islam to hinder, too, not the least of which is that there are those in the Muslim world who will try to kill anyone who criticizes Islam for being willing to kill people. But now, the British government is no longer taking the side of free speech; they are no longer taking the side of hundreds of years of British culture.

Will this policy require citizens to refrain from talking about things like the grooming gangs scandal? That's taken a horrible cost on young British women and girls, and the perpetrators are exclusively Muslims. The Labour Party doesn't want to talk about that.
For decades, thousands of children across dozens of towns were groomed, trafficked and raped by gangs of men, most of whom were Pakistani Muslims.
Far too many people within the British state turned a blind eye, or actively worked to cover up these crimes, because they feared being called racist or just didn’t believe the victims.
Police forces, local councils and care homes were all complicit in this cover-up.
The victims of the grooming gangs were let down and ignored by the very institutions that were supposed to protect them.
Why? To avoid offending Muslim immigrants? How about documented instances of Islamic terror in the United Kingdom? Will those be "monitored" as well?
On October 2, 2025, coinciding with Yom Kippur, the Jewish Day of Atonement and the holiest day on the Jewish calendar, a British man of Syrian descent named Jihad Al-Shamie rammed his vehicle into the front gates of Heaton Park Hebrew Congregation Synagogue in Manchester, England. He then exited the vehicle and Al-Shamie attacked the synagogue’s security guard and congregants with a knife. Al-Shamie killed two Jewish worshipers and wounded four others before police shot and wounded him. However, police suspected Al-Shamie was attempting to detonate a bomb from the ground, so they shot and killed him.
The only way these problems, these disturbing trends, may be countered is by dragging the problem into the light of day, pinning it down, ruthlessly examining it and its origins, and acting accordingly, even if that means expelling thousands, tens of thousands, hundreds of thousands of "refugees" who have no intention of adopting British culture and customs. The only alternative the British people face is being subsumed, losing their nation, their history, their culture, and their island home.
And the American left would have us go down this same path, right here in the United States. If you doubt that, look at the four years of Joe Biden's presidency, where our nation's doors were open to anyone, from anywhere, without question.
