The Department of Homeland Security reports that over two million people who were residing in the United States illegally have, one way or another, been repatriated to their countries of origin. The report comes as the Trump administration is still contending with efforts from the left and from activist judges to stop them from enforcing immigration laws, but the process continues.
The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) today announced record-breaking statistics with more than 527,000 illegal aliens removed under the leadership of President Donald Trump and Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem.
"The Trump Administration is on pace to shatter historic records and deport nearly 600,000 illegal aliens by the end of President Donald Trump’s first year since returning to office. More than 2 million illegal aliens have left the U.S. including 1.6 million who have voluntarily self-deported and over 527,000 deportations,” said Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin. “This is just the beginning. President Trump and Secretary Noem have jumpstarted an agency that was hamstrung and barred from doing its job for the last four years. In the face of a historic number of injunctions from activist judges and threats to law enforcement, DHS, ICE and CBP, have not just closed the border, but made historic strides to carry out President Trump’s promise of arresting and deporting illegal aliens who have invaded our country. Illegal aliens are hearing our message to leave now or face the consequence: Migrants are now turning back before they even reach our borders. Migration through Panama’s Darien Gap is down 99.99%."
The reported 1.6 million who went home voluntarily did so in part because of a federal program to pay their way:
Illegal aliens can take control of their departure with the CBP Home App. The United States is offering illegal aliens $1,000 and a free flight to self-deport now. We encourage every person here illegally to take advantage of this offer and reserve the chance to come back to the U.S. the right, legal way to live the American dream. If not, you will be arrested and deported without a chance to return.
While some may object to paying these people to leave when they never should have been here in the first place, there's a certain logic to this program. It's a strong incentive that, if an illegal alien leaves voluntarily through this program, they not only receive a one-time payment and a plane ticket, but also have the option to return legally.
The countering incentive is this: "If we have to kick you out, you're never coming back." Immigration & Customs Enforcement (ICE) reports as well that over 70 percent of ICE arrests are of criminals either charged with or convicted of a crime in the United States.
There's no place for those people here.

Dealing with illegal immigration was a key Trump priority when he resumed office. There's a lot yet to be done, mostly because of four years of utter failure to make even a pretense of enforcing immigration laws or controlling the border under the Biden administration. But the work proceeds; Border Czar Tom "The Hammer" Homan, along with his Border Patrol and ICE agents, has been doing great work.
And once again, this is what we voted for.
Editor’s Note: The Schumer Shutdown is here. Rather than put the American people first, Chuck Schumer and the radical Democrats forced a government shutdown for healthcare for illegals. They own this.
