The more that comes to light about the wastefulness and incompetence of the Biden administration - a fish that really did rot from the head - the more we should be glad to see that administration in the nation's rearview mirror. In the latest example of wastefulness that should have any sensible person's eyes rolling like the reels on a slot machine, we learn on Monday that the Biden administration's Transportation Secretary, "Pothole Pete" Buttigieg, wasted tens of billions on, you guessed it, "Diversity, Equity and Inclusion" schemes.
Former Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg failed to replace outdated air traffic control systems while in office — with his agency instead shelling out tens of billions of dollars on a DEI agenda, according to federal spending records and airline industry insiders.
Honestly, though, is anyone surprised? The Biden administration, now thankfully defunct, was notorious for this kind of horse squeeze. And aside from pushing the DEI stuff, "Pothole Pete" seemed to have very little idea what his job was. But that's no surprise; he had very little idea what his job was as mayor of South Bend, Indiana, either.
In one meeting, Buttigieg — who is said to be eyeing a 2028 presidential run — told industry executives that air traffic control upgrades would just allow them to fly more planes, “and so why would that be in his interest?,” sources said.
What his department was really interested in was handing out hundreds of diversity, equity and inclusion grants totaling more than $80 billion over four years — at least half of the DOT’s entire budget for a typical fiscal year, records show.
“He was definitely pushing an agenda,” an air industry official said, noting the transportation secretary had “little to no interest” and took “definitely zero action” toward air traffic control modernization.
Buttigieg spent his time in President Joe Biden’s cabinet blaming the airlines for their delays and “vilifying” the industry as a whole while denying his department’s DEI agenda led to any air traffic control staffing shortages or was maintaining an ailing safety system that hasn’t been updated since the Carter administration, sources told The Post.
Another sign of incompetence: Blaming anyone but yourself for the failures of a system you're supposed to be managing.
Fortunately, his replacement is far more competent.

New Poll Shows Democrats Are Committed to Losing Again in 2028
The Biden administration dropped many more billions down DEI ratholes than just this, and for what? What value have any of these programs added to any function of government at any level - and more to the point, how many solid, competent people have been screened out and a job given to less solid, less competent people, in order to tick off a "diversity" box?
But Democrats still seem to like Pothole Pete:
As of last month, an Emerson College poll of registered voters found the former transportation secretary leading the 2028 Democratic presidential primary field with 16% support, followed by ex-Vice President Kamala Harris at 13%.
To national Democrats, I will only say this: Please run this guy for president in 2028. Or ever. Please. Please, please, please. It would be worth it, just to see him in one debate, just one, with someone like JD Vance or Ron DeSantis.
Editor's Note: The Democrat Party has never been less popular as voters reject its globalist agenda.
