So I almost feel bad coming to the front page of RedState and bringing my opinion that we need to just slow down on the fever pitch for the impeachment of anything and everyone in the corrupt Biden Administration and or Democratic Party.

However, that moment of feeling bad passed quickly.

Being that I’m old enough to have lived through the Clinton impeachment, both Trump’s impeachments and the contempt of Congress citation against former Obama Attorney General Eric Holder, I think it’s time to at least rethink the way to handle this, particularly after how the Democrats dealt with it during Trump.

Republicans are now beating the drums for the impeachment of Joe Biden, and the walls are starting to crumble for the president.

Chief among the hawks is Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), who is now pressing the House on impeachment.

Asked at what point the investigation and problems pertaining to Hunter Biden turn into an issue for the president, which could lead to impeachment efforts by Republicans, Cruz said: “It is right now.”

“Look, this WhatsApp is direct evidence of Joe Biden abusing his government power to enrich his son, and, assuming 10% for the big guy, to enrich himself,” Cruz continued. “Remember, this WhatsApp says ‘we want to know.’ This is not just me, Hunter, just mooching off my dad… Of course the House needs to investigate it, but the stunning thing is what the IRS whistleblower says is [Department of Justice], Merrick Garland prevented an investigation even into this message.”

Is the groundwork being laid to impeach AG Merrick Garland for allegedly making false statements to Congress? That’s the signal that House Speaker Kevin McCarthy sent on Sunday.

For the first time since assuming his leadership role, McCarthy directly pushed the idea of impeaching Garland, citing recent revelations from an IRS whistleblower.

There’s not much beating around the bush there. Obviously, House investigators have to conduct a real impeachment investigation to confirm what’s being said, but it seems as if impeachment is now firmly on the table.

So just to be clear, I’m not saying that impeachment votes or contempt of Congress citations should not happen at all. Yet we all know what the result will be with an impeachment vote that will go to the Senate and will not pass as long as the Democrats hold that chamber.

When Eric Holder, the Obama-era Attorney General, got hit with a contempt of Congress citation, he laughed that off and treated it as no big deal.

President Donald Trump showed that you can get impeached multiple times, and if they don’t have the 67 votes in the Senate for removal, you can fundraise off that.

The Congressional committees that take up articles of impeachment or any other penalties should be making the case directly to the American people of why these actions need to be taken before the 2024 election. In the case of the Trump impeachment, the Dems had the assistance of most of the mainstream media in the country trying to scare them into what a threat Donald Trump was to the republic.

Of course, that courtesy will not be given to the Republicans by the same media.

What I’m suggesting is that, before the Republicans go into any committee maneuvering, instead go directly to the American people on a platform like Elon Musk’s Twitter to make the case.

Since Musk bought out the platform last year, they have rolled out new ways to utilize getting your message out without a filter. Tucker Carlson has done this to great effect to the dismay of Fox News. Just this past Saturday, while an attempted coup happened in Russia, people using the tool Twitter Spaces had hundreds of thousands of listeners to get a direct line on what was happening in real time.

How effective would it be if you had live video presentations with Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) going through a professionally produced live video laying out the case for why major reforms had to occur at the DOJ after the Durham report laid out what a mess was made?

What if James Comer were able to detail the specific information they have on Hunter and his shady business dealings without a time limit and zero interruptions?

How about if Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) did a breakdown on Twitter of what Dr. Anthony Fauci knew and when did he know it in regard to COVID? Paul could not be gaveled out of time by a committee chairperson and could take LIVE questions from people watching.

The Republicans currently have subpoena power in the House of Representatives, which is a great tool to have. Getting people on record under oath is part of the puzzle of making the case directly to the American people, and I’m not diminishing that part of this.

Yet the hearings held last week in the House to discuss John Durham’s report reinforced for me how the current system that the Republicans rely on to get information out to the public is no longer effective. Most of the Legacy Media has ignored the Durham report and barely mentioned the hearings last week after the Jordan-led committee discussed it in public.

If Congressman Jordan had just gone to Twitter and done a direct grilling of Durham over 30 to 45 minutes, much more would have come out directly to the people in this country looking for the truth. We also wouldn’t have had to put up with Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-NY) breathing heavily into a microphone, objecting to something that was said.

Now some people might say that the Democrats would complain and say that it was not fair and or biased, but they’re going to say that anyway. The aforementioned Nadler’s opening statement at last week’s hearing was so devoid of reality and ignored what was in the report that it was a waste of time to watch any of it.

I’ve been mentioning both here on RedState and also on my radio and video shows over at Duke over America for a while that Republicans should be sitting down at the border doing a 24/7 live stream. The mess that the Biden administrative policies have left in that area is a humanitarian crisis, and five-minute news hits are not enough to give the people in this country a good grasp of it.

The same goes for throwing the Scarlet Letter of Impeachment or anything else that Joe or Hunter and any other of these political failures have initiated. Before you hold any hearings on this, take matters directly to the American people with well-thought-out presentations that can be referred back to, discussed, and shared 24 hours a day, 365 days a week.

If the GOP can think outside the box and do something like this sidestepping the mainstream media and weakening their grip even more than it has occurred over the past couple of years, the country will benefit.

Hopefully, they do this and make any official action of Congress stick rather than relying upon the old trope of history being made.

Public schools don’t teach history all that well today, anyway.
