A sickening crime occurred Monday in St. Paul, Minnesota, and the backstory will make you all the more enraged.
Ethiopian national Tsegaab Binessu, aged 30, has been arrested in the savage murders of three staffers who worked at the apartment complex where he lived. Binessu allegedly shot to death Nansi Fuentes Zambrano, 25, Dena Silcox, 56, and Adam Wilwerding, 43, over a $65 parking space dispute.
All three of the victims were working in the apartment complex front office when Binessu telephoned trying to cancel the monthly payment for his residential parking spot, telling them he planned to leave the area and join the Navy. He reportedly became enraged when told he couldn't cancel his contract because he had just renewed it.
Here's what happened next.
He “went to the leasing office a short time after that phone call and he executed three workers,” the court documents state.
He is accused of shooting Wilwerding, a community manager known affectionately as AJ, six times and Silcox six times.
Silcox, who was the assistant manager having worked in the office for almost a decade, reportedly screamed “No, no – no no” when Wilwerding was shot.
Silcox was then also shot five times in “rapid succession” before Binessu allegedly fired another gunshot, which sent her crashing to the floor, the court documents said, according to the St. Paul Pioneer Press.
Nansi Fuentes Zambrano was shot in the head as she tried to escape the madman, who then stole her car and drove 200 miles to Virginia, Minnesota. Officials, who found 21 shell casings at the crime scene, soon caught up with Binessu and took him into custody.

While making his escape, the suspect allegedly called his roommate and confessed to the killings; court documents show the alleged gunman admitting he had "argued with apartment management and ended up killing three people.”

When law enforcement interrogated Binessu about the crime, he reportedly moaned to them that he "hated the American system." It turns out that the Ethiopian national felt he was the real victim after having spent seven years trying to bring his family to the U.S., blaming the immigration system for his woes.
“Binessu believes he was treated unfairly because he is black and an immigrant,” the court documents stated.
“Binessu repeatedly said he has lost everything he cared about: his wife, his children, his business, his peace of mind. Binessu said life without his family no longer made sense.”
The stress of it all apparently led Binessu to quit his job as a truck driver. He has now been charged in Ramsey County District Court with three counts of second-degree murder, with his bail set at $10 million. His next court appearance is scheduled for August 13.
Meanwhile, the families of the murdered apartment complex workers are left reeling over the heinous act and the unimaginable loss of their loved ones. One resident commented, "They were just good people, really good people."
