Anyone who's been paying attention to modern-day terror attacks carried out against the West by Islamic terrorists will know that their weapon of choice is often a car or truck. They drive trucks into crowds enjoying German Christmas markets and Bastille Day celebrations in France, they mow down pedestrians crossing bridges in London, and target cyclists enjoying bike paths in New York City. And they murder in cold blood revelers celebrating New Year's Eve on the festive streets of New Orleans.
Cars and trucks are also good for hiding and detonating bombs. Terrorists with ties to ISIS, al-Qaeda, Taliban, al-Shabaab, Hamas, and Islamic Jihad have been known to target overseas government buildings, tourist hot spots, and other crowded areas with car rammings and car bombs. Often, they blow themselves to smithereens along with the car, probably screaming "Allahu Akbar!" in their final moments as they pay homage to Allah and jihad.
Terrorists use their cars to kill. Bigger vehicles can kill more people. Sometimes, they use airplanes to inflict the most damage possible, but those are hard to commandeer these days thanks to painful lessons learned on and after 9/11. So, cars and trucks it is for today's Islamic terrorist.

In a not-so-ironic twist, cars and trucks have also become the favored weapon of the American leftist, with battlecries of "Allahu Akbar!" being replaced with "Drive, baby, drive!" This, of course, refers to the case of "Minneapolis mom" Renee Nicole Good, a trained anti-ICE radical who aimed her two-ton Honda Pilot at an ICE agent and found out the hard way that America isn't a third-world hellhole yet and the good guys will still fight back. Good was shot and killed because she foolishly decided to weaponize her SUV against law enforcement and lost.
And she's not the first by any means, with hundreds of cases of radical leftists using their cars, trucks, vans, and SUVs as weapons against cops and federal agents popping up in the last year or so. Here's one egregious example:
In October, a politically connected illegal alien was charged with ramming ICE vehicles in Los Angeles. He was shot and wounded by an ICE officer, but after a grand jury indicted the illegal alien, an Obama judge threw out the charges.
Just last week, two Tren de Aragua thugs were shot in Portland after they drove their vehicle at U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents in an attempt to evade arrest. On Sunday, a person drove a U-Haul truck into a crowd of protesters at an anti-Iranian regime rally in Los Angeles. In December, a Salvadoran illegal was shot in Maryland after he drove his van at ICE officers attempting to detain him.
A clear pattern is emerging: the left, either through training or by example, is glorifying the use of vehicles as lethal weapons against law enforcement. The so-called "activists," like Renee Good, know to do it, and the criminals being shielded by the anti-ICE activists know to do it, all of them presumably thinking that they, being shielded in two-to-three ton metal machines, are unstoppable. They are not.
The numbers don't lie. As RedState's Ward Clark reported Monday, assaults on ICE officers are up 1,300% and vehicular attacks are up 3,200%, with all-around death threats up by 8,000%. It doesn't take a huge leap of logic to determine that, based on recent behavior, these threats come from unhinged leftists who apparently think death is a small price to pay to keep violent illegals in the country.
It's truly mind-boggling. The suicidal empathy of the American left is fast becoming a blood-thirsty quest for progressive martyrdom, all so that child predators, rapists, and murderers from actual third-world hellholes can continue to prey on our citizens. Amazing stuff.
Here's the thing, though. If the left wants to act like terrorists, we need to treat them like terrorists. There is no such thing as a “mostly peaceful” vehicular assault. If you adopt the tools and tactics of terror, you should expect the same response terrorists receive. The federal government must act now and the arrests need to start immediately.
